Easy now! Ok so the tax man has my pants down every year I was on 40% all last year pretty much, when I was offshore some of the lads went through some 'good' accountants and only lost £15 off every invoice! So I called up today and they said you must be self employed to do this and sort your own tax and NI? I assume the other lads were just thinking fcuk it and giving a fake company name and keeping the lot.
So what's the risks of getting caught? Does anyone else do this? I expect it would be for about 8/9 weeks so about 10-12k I wouldn't have paid tax on. How far down the line could it catch up with me?

I dont know how to go about avoiding tax, part from working on the side etc, not gonna say wither its right or wrong to fuck with taxes that is down to you I see why you would want to save a few bob, if your prepared to do the crime think of what would happen if you got caught could you deal with that ?

I know blokes who haven't paid income tax in years.. it'll catch up with them in the end.

They're meant to be able to go back through 6 years or so, they'll go back as far as they choose, pick a figure, add a zero onto it and ask you to prove you don't owe it them.. It's not innocent until proven guilty with them bastards, you're guilty and it's down to you to prove other wise.

Her Majesty wants her coin and they can tear your life apart if you fuck em about.. My advice would be not to evade tax but to claim absolutely all you can as an expense. Go Limited, pay yourself a wage, pay your Mrs or whoever a wage, £10,000 say... its all coming off your tax bill and you're paying the minimum then...

It's so complicated the revenue don't understand it all....

Pay your fucking taxes, you sponging pig. Just like we all have to do.

The end.

I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to pay so fucking much! Are you paying 40%? It really takes the silver lining out the cloud! I pull my fucking pan out everyday and the more I earn the worse off I am. If I sat at a desk all day I might see things differently but I work in a dangerous environment every day sometimes have to take a crappy helicopter across the North Sea and just pray it don't pack up like so many do. It's a few weeks work, maybe 4-5k in tax not paid not exactly the crime of the century....

You're better off paying tax. HM Revenue can be bloody cunts if you don't. Even if you under pay by accident and it's THEIR fault they still have your arse in a fucking sling because they say it's your fault for not checking your THEIR work and fine your arse anyway. With tax it's always best to just pay it, really isn't worth the hassle. I don't mind to be honest when I went from one job to another I was paid around £1300. I was well stressed all weekend thinking that my work had paid it by mistake but when I saw Finance that Monday they said it was a rebate as I'd paid far too much tax in my previous work. Was well pleased at the time as it paid off my overdraft. A few years ago when there was all those mistakes with tax I was given around £250 as I'd apparently paid too much in another job. Was very pleased that day.
HM Revenue tax businesses like ell though. My parents recently sold a 20 year business and most of the sale went in a massive tax bill plus theres tax a few times a year every year they had it etc...

Mad tax is.... and like many things it's a real pain in the arse!
