Paxil's effect on LSD?

I have tried a few google searches and the best I could find were some conflicting posts on bluelight from 20001. Some people say it affects it, some people say it doesn't.

The reason I'm posting this is because my girlfriend who is on Paxil ate some rolls with me a few weeks ago and felt absolutely nothing while I felt great. I didn't realize at the time that Paxil and most other antidepressants kill the effects of ecstasy. That was a huge bummer for me as she had never done it before and I was excited for her to try it, but I said 'fuck it', let's do some hallucinogens.

So we took a hit each of some good acid the other day, and everyone at the party we were at was completely gone, but she kept saying she didn't really feel anything. Throughout the night, several times she did have spurts of laughter and said that every now and then it looked like something moved, and colors seemed a LITTLE brighter, but that she just wasn't that fucked up. I didn't really believe her considering how fucked up I was, but 6 hours later she passed right out whereas I couldn't sleep for almost 12 hours.

So can anyone tell me what effects Paxil has on an LSD experience? Does it weaken it? Could this be overcome by taking more LSD? Would Paxil affect 2c-_ drugs in a similar fashion? I'm convinced that she did feel the acid, just not as strongly as everyone else there did, and I have a feeling Paxil had something to do with it.

Just thought it was worth pointing out that it is SSRIs that are behind this response, there are (a few) other anti-depressants which are not SSRIs and do not interact in this way with other drugs.

But in short, SSRIs do tend to lessen the effects of serotonergic drugs, whether they are SRIs, releasers, or agonists like psychedelics.

The people I know who are on SSRIs who also trip tend to take 1.5-2x as much for a similar effect, some may need more or less than this - obviously stay on the side of caution, but you should suggest she slowly and carefully up her dose until she finds one she trips comfortably on. I probably wouldn't suggest the same for something like MDMA which can be quite neurotoxic when you push the dosage though.
