If you have panic disorder inderal would be much more valuable in terms of keeping your adrenal glands shut down. Paxil does not address that.
I have panic disorder too but have managed to control it for the most part after 12 years. Paxil didn't do shit for me in that regard it just made me a bit happier and killed a little anxiety.
Paxil wds are the worst of any ssri I know.
The actual acute wds can be just as intense as opiate wds.
So my advice to you. DO NOT cold turkey. Don't taper for only 2-4 weeks. Taper that shit for 2 months minimum. I was an utter mess coming off that crap. Vomiting, panic attacks left and right, shaking/stuttering, you MUST TAPER SLOW and you can get through it somewhat painlessly.
In all honesty lexapro put paxil to shame. It worked wayyy better for both anxiety/depression, it actually stopped my panic attacks, and when I got off it was a breeze. Not to mention I haven't had a panic attack ever since. I still take inderal because its prob the single most important thing for panic attacks.
But as far as the paxil taper that crap slow as possible, you will also lose a good deal of weight the first few months after you stop.
