is there any recreational use i could get out of a coupole of paxil (used to treat anxiety disorders, depression, etc) - i'm not really sure if i wanna mess with it but i got em and was just wonderin...

Ummm...no. I use to know someone who would take like 3 of em' and drink a lot...gets kinda loopy, but nothing cool.
So, no. Paxil is useless. Recreationaly. It has the worst withdrawl symptoms of any antidepresent. But thats only if you were on it for a while under doctors supervision.
Also, don't snort it. Ever. I was young and stupid and trust me, it is really uncomfortable. We thought we'd try and be drug pioneers, blazing a new trail into unknown territory. All i got was my head hurting on one side and a runny nose. It hurt.
Hope that answers yer question.

Takes a good 2-4 weeks of daily dosing for paxil to work it's magic in the first place. On top of which, it will do next to nothing if you aren't somewhat clinically depressed (or variations of) in the first place. Some folks argue taking it as a post load when using E (mdma) will reduce possible side effects such as temporary depression. Not sure if this works.
Taking a high dose of paxil in any scenario can lead to serotonin syndrome, only recommended if you enjoy vomiting and severe headaches.
Cheers

paxil has absolutely NO recreational value, and as already been said, it takes a while until it shows some effect.
i postload with paxil and i hate it, it gives me even worse insomnia than i already have and makes me feel extremely weird.
try benzos instead

As with the general concensus of this thread, anti-depressants don't usually do much, with a few exceptions. I liken it to a bunch of side-effects with no effects.
As far as MDMA and anti-depressants go, I'd like to reiterate the warnings [from http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_basics.shtml - Contraindications]:
"Do not take MDMA if you are currently taking an MAOI. MAOIs are most commonly found in the prescription anti-depressants Nardil (phenelzine), Parnate (tranylcypromine), Marplan (isocarboxazid), Eldepryl (l-deprenyl), and Aurorex or Manerix (moclobemide). Ayahuasca also contains MAOIs (harmine and harmaline). MDMA and MAOIs are a potentially dangerous combination. Check with your doctor if you are not sure whether your prescription medication is an MAOI."

I find paxil to be very helpful for sleep sometimes, only when I am out of benzos of course. I take 10mg and I feel tired, but not the same feeling I get from benzos, not even close. You just feel groggy.

another excellent way to sleep (if you arent on any form of antidepresent allready, and after your other drugs wear off a bit): Amatryptiline (sp?). A tricyclic. Nocked me on my ass, passed out right-quick.

In case there is still any confusion - Paxil is an SSRI, it has NO recreational value to the normal person.. I say "normal" person as I have a friend (well, I have no friends, this is just someone I know, he is a loser) whos FAVORITE combo is Prozac and Ativan - he says it "feels just like you're rolling" ... fucking nut! Oh well, making the best out of it I guess, as any doctor would be more then happy to keep his stocked!
It is good for killing that ate-up feeling after a roll, so they are nice to have on hand...
