So, I recently stopped taking Paxil, about 3 weeks ago. I've been dealing with the horrible withdrawals and trying to keep my sanity, which hasn't been easy :(

My question now is, does anyone know if that has been a long enough time for me to safely take Tramadol? I certainly don't want to risk Serotonin Syndrome on top of everything else. I have some for a knee injury but haven't been taking it for that reason. I can't seem to find an answer on the length of time between stopping Paxil and being able to safely take Tramadol. If anyone knows, thank you!

the most serious risk with combining an SSRI with Tramadol is an increased chance for a seizure. If you were taking the meds concurrently, it would be smart to keep an eye out for any signs of serotonin syndrome. even then, the risk would be extremely low.

3 weeks is plenty of time to get the paxil out of your system. are you on a different anti-depressant now?

Thanks for the reply....nope I'm not on any other anti-depressants now. So it sounds pretty safe. And I'm not going to go overboard and take more than prescribed, so I should be okay. Thanks :)

I've taken sertraline (zoloft) and taken Tramadol , regularly, 24 hours after my last dose of zoloft. I've also taken tramadol regularly and stoped taking it, to begin taking zoloft, which I started the zoloft 24 hours after my last dose of tramadol.

If it has been 3 weeks, You're far from in danger of seizures or serotonin syndrome.
