Hi all,

I have tried to look around the mountain of threads on subject of WD, paws, etc... but couldnt find the right answer, so here goes:

I have used heroin (average quality, #3 (brown stuff that is), insufflated) on a daily basis for just under a year (with a couple of breaks thrown in, but never more than 1-2 weeks)... right now i've managed to quit by tapering first with oxy and then with morphine, and am feeling ok since 2 days without taking anything...
[edit] forgot to mention daily usage was approx. 1g [/edit]

question is - what am i facing as far as paws is concerned? I know this is subjective, but am interested in people who've used (and abused) similar substances for similar periods and understand their experience...

Thanks for your replies :)

If you feel ok, you are ok. Don't go looking for something that isn't there to begin with. I think you'll be fine. Opiates tend to be quite benign I think when it comes to PAWS. When it's over it's over. Not like benzos, those withdrawals can come and go for ages making you feel like you are going insane.

I've heard some people say take as many years as you've used and turn that into months instead and that's how long you'll feel like crap, sort of. Still it's very individual.

Key for me was Change Of Routine, I dealt with major PAWS and almost got back on the ride. Started to go to sleep early and waking up early. Everything seemed wrong and out of place at the time. One major thing I did to deal with PAWS was stopping hanging out with the people that I used, or they are still using. Some people were close to me, but this is for the better for myself. Any free time or bored hour: laundry, clean house, etc or whatever to keep you busy and everything will follow behind. At least it did for me.

Thanks for your advice... in fact i spoke too soon and have been feeling like shit over the last few days... mainly tired and depressed and completely craving the bliss that is heroin...
my problem is not changing the routine, thats easy enough... i have a prob with hacking the job feeling like this...

You said you have already started W/D's?
As far a job issues I found out that Imodium AD was helpful for me to function lil better. Imodium is an opiate, but it does not cross the BBB. 2mg every 6 hours was good for me. If you are in a situation where everything seems wrong, it's actually right. That's the PAWS kicking in and might sound stupid, but have sex, It will kick start you for a lil while. I'm not a doctor, this is just some of the issues I encountered while I was going to thru the process. Remember if you on Bluelight, you know that you want to quit. The question is do you really want to continue same routine and keep hurting the people that care about you.
After I quit I started to enjoy the things that were so small, but yet so big, because something different than GETTING HIGH. Beach, fishing, etc
There's a lot of useful threads on here that might help you lil more..
Keep you head up and keep on keeping on, if you entered 3rd day of not using than you should start seeing some success.

EDIT
I found that Adderall was very helpful, but in low doses. It does have high addictive potential.
