Opioids PAWS and caffeine

I think Deveel was simply drawing from his own experience and playing devils advocate.

maybe?

Wow, so that explains it. I too have noticed negative effects after drinking coffee. I also experience similar uncomfortable effects after smoking cigarettes. Even after 6 months of not consuming one pod.

If you are experiencing paws avoid caffeine. I have paws after being an opiate addict for 6 years, I haven't had a habit in 4 1/2 months. My problem is I wake up in the morning and I'm all lethargic and need a pick me up, so then I drink coffee but then I'm left all anxious and I get diarreh, chills. Which sucks because I love coffee but I'm cutting back.

Perhaps a decent alternative?

L-Tyrosine in the morning helps many w/the wake up and lack of energy. Per the Thomas guide to Opiate withdrawal, start w/2000mg in the morning on an empty stomach, don't eat for an hour. Gives a natural burst of energy, last throughout the day. You come down in the evening and are able to sleep. Doesn't work for everyone, but many swear by it. Get it at any GNC, healthfood store -- worth giving a shot.

I don't like drinking caffeinated beverages, however, I use advanced caffeine tablets which contain caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline. I find that since I started taking 1/2 tablet per day, before working it up to two 1/2 tablets per day, to two whole tablets per day, I get pretty good medicinal stimulation from it. :)

I definitely wouldn't recommend it for anyone who is still struggling with the acute withdrawals or PAWS though; I would just recommend it for when you're feeling back to normal, maybe just a little more demotivated/tired than usual.

Yall recovered opiate addicts try ASHWAGANDA in the am. It is a bit euphoric (actually in the somniferum family, think "papaver somniferum"). It is stimulating but without anxiety. I make tinctures out of it, but you can also drink it in tea. Tincture and dried root forms of it are available in most health food stores/co-ops. Try it! you won't regret it!

^sorry but I need to make a few corrections here...

1.) Its Ashwagandha
2.) Its not related to papaver somniferum at all. The plant name is Withania somnifera; the species in simply a latin word meaning something along the lines of 'sleep inducing'.
3.) Its in the nightshade family (the same as poisonous plants like Datura and Belladonna).
4.) It is actually used medicinally for insomnia, so for most, it has sedative and not stimulant effects. Many would not benefit from taking it in the AM.
