Patchwork Quilt

My heart
Tripped up
Stumbling, tumbling.

A patchwork quilt of emotion.

Of confusion
Indecision
Holding back
Taking a chance.

Of Fear
Heartbreak
Manipulation
The unknown.

Of pure joy
Finding someone
Who understands me
On a level like no-one before.

A patchwork quilt lined with memories.

Of a hedonistic first meeting
Lasers dancing
Bass caressing skin
Sweat and smoke intermingled
Hands entwined
Peaking hard
Kissing harder.

Of late night conversations
Goals, ambitions
Childhood dreams
Books, music
Passions and loathes
Friendship cemented
In the hours we should be sleeping.

A patchwork quilt stitched together by the hand of a daydreamer and compulsive escapist.

My heart
Tripped up
Stumbling, tumbling.

Along a path to which I have no map
And nothing to shield me
From the cold night alone
Save a patchwork quilt.

This stems from the ideas that were running through my head in the early hours of last Thursday morning when I was tired, sick, completely & utterly confused, and unable to sleep for the shivering. Things have actually become a little more sorted since then :) (I think!)

*bigass grin*

I don't think I've smiled this much for a while. It could be bad because maybe my face is going to crack. ;)

Goddamnit. I like this poem a lot. I like it for the way you've written it, and I like it because the personality of the person who wrote it is inorexibly woven into it.

*hugest hugs*
