we sat in the car, engine off, stereo on
yellow sallow light filtering though the windshield from the streetlight above -
for once outside your house, not my home.
i would not face you, would not let you see
i traced my finger through the condensation accumulated from our deep sighs and explanations.
i wrote your name over and over again, wiping it clean each time.
everything we meant lay in the things we did not say.
I'm sorry i could not love you more.

I read something today...
"Why I'm trying to make someone more into the person I want them to be. "
It's about change, I think. For the better, hopefully.

i really REALLY enjoyed this piece. i dont know what it was about it, you know the way something just touches you and you're not sure why. well, this did that too me.

so true, always so true. we say the things that we know will be explainable, will go over well, will make sense and make us sound less heartless. not saying that we don't truly feel them--for we do, but it is like an iceberg, with only the tip showing...
"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."---
C.S. Lewis

Thank you for the responses girls. It's somehow...comforting to know others are reading.
Everytime I talk to him, I say a little more. We've finally agreed not to talk for a month. There goes my inspiration to write.
