Paris terrorist attacks

Exactly ^ turning away folk i.e. closing borders and not taking the risk isn't gonna stop the terrorists anyway. That's the problem, it's not like it's a country we're fighting, these 'people' will do anything to get what they want including killing etc of their own people.
 
It makes you wonder, doesn't it? I understand that some extremists will use religion to justify what they're doing, but ISIS are happy killing fellow Muslims, so religion doesn't seem to be the reason for why these people are such cunts. Other than being an organisation of truly evil psychopaths, which they obviously are, I'd love to know the motivation behind their actions. They seem to be very much of the 'I'll murder whoever I want, because I can' mindset. The fact that people see this shit on the news, then actively join up, is fairly frightening.
 
My post above was wrong, it turns out. ISIS are pretty fucking serious about Islam law, and keeping it as it was back in the dark ages, hence their lack of hesitation, when it comes to killing Muslims with a more modern view on the subject. From what I understand, the ISIS members that pull the sort of shit that's happened in Paris are generally considered failures and pussies, by the rest. Yeah I hate the way muslims get a bad name for things like this. Muslims are ok. They're people like anyone else; some good, some bad. I've had a friend, in college, who was a mudlim. She was really lovely; alwayspleasant, smiling n had the most beautiful, long black hair. The people who did this are evil not the race / religious group / culture they belong to <3

Whenever someone values a dusty old book with words like "if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers" or "Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book" over observed reality, they become dangerous.

The simple, ineluctable fact is that, if you take them seriously enough, the messages of ancient scripture are just plain toxic.

Quite! Ya know, you got me thinking with your comment in another thread the other weekend, that the snake was the hero of the garden of Eden. That is so true - he cured mankinds ignorance, gave them the power of procreation and set them free (and pissed off God in the process - which is always a bonus). Anyway, from that, I now reckon the TRUE story of Christianity is the total opposite of what the bible or holy men would have us believe. So if I can get enough 3fpm down me neck I may just post my thoughts on this subject later. However, it is likely to be extremely offensive, irreverent, self indulgent and not at all funny. So be warned...

I reckon its also exactly the same situation with Islam and the Qur'an which is just the same old bollocks as the bible, but with different names.

The Muslim religion is a faith of 1.2billion people. Isis have a following of tens of thousands. By the ignorant logic you've chosen to adopt, your demonising many on the actions of a few.

Do you also consider all Irish in the past as terrorists? Or all American Christians as members of the KKK?

This whole lets hate on all Muslims is one of the reasons I no longer log into sites like Facebook. It just breeds ignorance.
 
There will always be people who will exploit the misfortune of others to further their own agendas. So there may well be a few chancers trying to slip in alongside the genuinely needy.

But, you know what? Fuck that. It's better to let ten scroungers in than let one genuine refugee die at home. We can always deal with the bad ones later. Because these people are fleeing in fear for their lives, from people we supplied with weapons. This is our business. We fucked up really badly, and we owe them.
 
Whilst the 'free world' unites in support of France against ISIS the Daily Mail has sank to a new all time low in blaming the whole thing on the migrant crisis. It got completely 'dissed on BBC NEWS 24s 'The Papers' with the commentators stating that they would only consider 'serious newspapers' worthy of discussion under such circumstances. Finally someone (Robert Fox, Defense Editor of The London Evening Standard) has been bold enough to imply on national TV that the Mail is not a serious newspaper, and not worth the paper it's printed on, and that it's not even worth a second of their time, and that nothing contained within it should be taken seriously.

Though i wasn't aware of the guy previously I have huge admiration for Robert Fox for stating that. He is someone who is on the inside of the newspaper world, he seems to personally know every journalist and editor worth knowing, or if he doesn't know them he knows all about them and the papers they work for, and he certainly does not mince his words. When will everyone else wake up and realise the same thing though.

I love my family but they have an extremely ignorant attitude saying things like all of muslims should be killed etc. I was trying to explain to them that it's not all muslims some of them are good people but they wouldn't listen. If people said "get of blacks they're killers" csuse one killed someone there would be outcry n the person called a racist. I'm absolutely disgusted at people's attitudes. Muslims are just like us with different beliefs n shouldn't be hated because of these people's actions.

Exactly, 99% of 'proper' Musilms are peaceable people who abhor these attack and are deeply ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with them in any way. The terrorists carrying out these attacks are not Muslims, they are inhumane lunatics commiting atrocities in the name of Alah. They shout "Alah Akbar" whilst about to behead an innocent person, or blow up themselves and everyone around them; these people are completely delusional and brainwashed.
