Parents planted drugs on elementary school volunteer they were unhappy with

A California couple is accused of planting illegal drugs on an elementary school volunteer because they weren’t happy with how the woman was supervising their son.

Jill and Kent Easter, both attorneys, were arrested Tuesday after they allegedly hatched a plan to frame the woman at Plaza Vista School in Irvine, Calif., KABC-TV reports.

Police say Kent, 38, put a bag of prescription painkillers, marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the volunteer’s car, then called police to say he had seen her hide the drugs in her car.

Cops responded to the scene and found the drugs in the woman’s car. Surveillance footage shows Kent calling Irvine police from a hotel near his office in Newport Beach.

“She [the volunteer] was shocked,” Irvine Police Lt. Julia Engen told KABC-TV. “She had no idea where those items came from. Things just didn’t seem to add up.”

The Associated Press reports investigators began to eye the Easters when they learned the volunteer had been in class at the time Kent said she was hiding the drugs.

The Easters’ babysitter, Tiffany Pan, says she’s shocked by the allegations.

“They’re always so positive and happy, and I just can’t imagine them even doing anything like this,” Pan told KABC-TV.

The couple, charged with felony conspiracy and false imprisonment, face up to three years in prison if convicted, according to AP.

If this happened in a lower class area i bet the police wouldnt have taken 30 seconds out of their day to even begin investigating whether or not she could of been framed, they would of jusy called her another drug addict liar and gone thru with the posession charges

I hope the couple do time but that is unlikely. They are both lawyers so they probably have money not to mention know other lawyers. They will likely get in little trouble, maybe have to give the victim some money.

Remember kids, its okay to do the wrong thing as long as you have a bunch of money to throw at your mistake.

thats true to an extent, and I get what you are saying, but the lady whos car it was had an alibi for when the caller said he saw her putting the drugs in there.

But yeah, im sure they listened to her side of the story a lot longer than John Doe from the ghetto

A friend of mine did this to one of his classmates in high school. He thought the guy was having a fling with his exgirlfriend or something. The kid ended up getting held back a year. Probably got a possession charge as well. We still give my friend shit for it.

I would guess that you are right.
If the woman had been a different color, or age, or socioeconomic class, the police may have more easily have ignored her story.

Gotta agree with what was said earlier. If this was in a poor area or surveillance was absent, the teacher would have been fucked.

White-collar crime usually gets off, even if it's only crime committed by white-collar people.
