Parents Coming Down on me like a tonne of bricks for my LSD use

They asked, I told the truth. They knew less about LSD then they do about heroin, so it's all the same to them. Either way the reaction was out of proportion and I have to live with the consequences.


Mescaline isn't doing much, thankfully (at all actually?).
 
Their reaction is out of proportion from your perspective, but you've got to remember all that they see is their son 'getting involved in drugs', and 'serious' drugs at that. It may be slightly ignorant on their part, for sure, but unfortunately that's the way the wider world tends to see these things.

I could (and did) encounter my parents in various altered states and they never even noticed unless they were already spoiling for a fight. I spent one Christmas nodding out on smack and my mother didn't clock on at all and probably wouldn't have cared all that much if she'd known. Would I have swapped that situation for your own, even with the attendant misunderstandings and difficulties? Probably.

As for the mescaline, cross-tolerance?
 
Meh. I don't know. I suspect taht 100mg bag of etizolam I not-so dissolved appropiately in water for dosing played a bigger part in this than any :|

We'll see what happens. Waste of drugs though, waste of time and waste of good times with parents.
 
I'm confident that everything can be smoothed over. You'll just have to make sure you set the perfect example of a responsible, functioning drug user whenever you're in their company. Whatever that is. ;)

As a parent, I can see both sides.

I don't know your situation mate, but I'm sure it will work out if you stay on good terms and let them see only good things - I have all this to come, and the hypocrisy of my reactions to figure out - I still don't know how to handle that at all. But if I were your parents, I would probably react the same way as a shock tactic. Desperate maybe, and I can see how it could backfire. But I hope that's all they are doing and you will get your money back if they see what they want to see.

FWIW, and tempting though it may be, try not to hit back and push them away.

conversation that took place between me and my mum at christmas, while I was helping her shop for Xmas gifts for the family on a trip to MeadowHall Shopping Centre:

her: oooo, we've got lots of things for other people, but what about you, what do you want?
me: er, nothing springs to mind
her: you must want something!
me: erm, ok, well, some cash would be appreciated, so I can buy drugs and alcohol to mask the pain of everyday living
her: hrmn. ok. you can have the cash. but just let me know if you see something you want to buy, ok?

That's what I was thinking. He also has the a face that screams 'abuse me knockando'. No wonder his parents are so protective.
