How is cocaine more socially acceptable than heroin?

It just is. I mean, cocaine is seen as a glamorous party drug as has been said whereas heroin is associated with shooting up and addiction. When I went to college, there was definitely cocaine use at parties, yet I never heard of anyone even mention heroin except as in a joking fashion like something they wouldn't actually do. Cocaine is seen as something that social, party people do while heroin is for junkies nodding off by themselves.

but if someone smokes crack, how's that better than smoking tar? lol. I just fail to see how you can justify one and not the other.

I was just talking about snorting some soft at a party and such, not smoking crack. Smoking crack definetly brings me right back to the homeless street junkie mentality when I think about it. What I meant was to the non-drug user, or even the drug user, cocaine is portrayed as this fun awesome drug in the media that makes for the ultimate party where as heroin is generally not even know to be snortable. Most people legitamitely think you can only inject it, and I sure as hell know if I asked any of my dealers for heroin they would be like, "wow you're f*cked up man you got a problem, no i don't got that shit... want some oxy?"
