Palpitations on 2C-B

Have taken 2c-b more than a dozen times, always had great trips, body load always been manageable - have a bit of stiffness, but this is quelled by a decent Calcium/Magnesium tablet.

Ingested a pill from the same batch as normal this weekend, and went to a big party that turned out to be quite unpleasant. So not a good set/setting. Everything was far too intense. Left and went outside to get a taxi. Ended up taking myself to A&E as was so concerned about my quite severe heart palpitations and tingling in legs and feet. Blood pressure, blood and ECG all normal. Had expected lecture from doctor attending though. Note that I've never been anywhere near a Hospital whilst tripping previously.

I have a few theories:

- This particular pill from the batch was much stronger than the others
- The set/setting was terrible, this could have caused the physical effects combined with a higher than normal dose
- The particular pill may have been adulterated (with speed or similar)

The physical effects reminded me of the time I accidentally took speed a few years (by accident).

Now very hesitant to take 2C-B again, which is a shame, as its a favourite...

It sounds like it was just a bad set and setting. Psychs + anxiety = lots of mysterious physical problems and restlessness. Very doubtful it was adulterated.

You should rest for a month or so and if you do decide to do more 2cb, pay attention to set, setting, and taking care of your body before and after the trip.

All phens will feel vaguely like "speed", they're all adrenergic agents.

You may have undiagnosed atrial fibrillation. It is a fairly common, but non life threatening heart condition, but does increase the likely hood for stroke. I have a-fib, and it didn't manifest itself until my mid 20's. When I do stimulants and drugs with stimulative qualities, I get palpitations, sometimes they take my breath away. This can be scary, especially without a diagnoses. Before my mom was diagnosed, she went to the er thinking she was having a heart attack. Not trying to play doctor, but wanted to give you something to consider.

there are a few fairly benign heart conditions that can rear their ugly head in the presence of stimulants. the post above is a prime example. you said you got an echocardiogram and nothing out of the ordinary was found? certainly if an ecg was done then they found at least something to explain your situation. if they found nothing then they should've been able to tell you that it was just most likely anxiety and nothing else.

Thanks for all the words of advice. It does sound like it's just set and setting orientated. Feel a bit silly on the whole thing. Will leave 2C-B a few months before trying again though... and start on a lower dose to regain confidence....

i too think it is a set and setting situation.

a friend had himeslf convinced that he couldnt move while udner the influence of shrooms :P there was literally nothing i could do to change his mind. eventually he got distracted and forgot his negative thoughts.

the doctors attending you checked for normal signs and symptoms. they cant say it was just anxiety, but if all those tests were normal theres a good chance thats what it was (anxiety is at the bottom of a long list of diagnosis).
atrial fibrilation can be brought on by stimulat use. however it is much more likely that you became oversensitized temporarily to your own hearbeat and felt it more, or felt out of place beats (which are common in young people during times of stress, or stim use).

relax, take a break from drugs, and if you are really worried, get a cardiology checkup, but i hardly think it is necessary.
