Im new here. I had surgery in 2003 and was prescribed pain meds. I've been taking then off and on ever since. Most recently it's gotten out of hand. They should be illegal. I would have been fine taking a regular nsaid when i had my surgery to never be introduced to a drug that would haunt me for years to come.

You cannot make a claim like this. First, you are aware of the failures of prohibition correct? Should we remove pharmaceutically pure opioids and allow the black market to take over? Should we allow cancer patients to live in pain because some of us seem to be prone to the addictive qualities of these drugs? You are looking at this through your eyes only, but there are others in the world.

Welcome to the site, I agree that simply banning a substance because 'some' people have problems with it just isn't the way to go.

Were you not aware of the addictive potential of your pain medication? I know that sometimes doctors used to over prescribe these kind of medications and this led to a lot of unknowing addicts.
