In a well-know book defending voluntary euthanasia I was amazed to read that heroin would be as good as barbiturates to induce a painless demise. I had always thought that heroin OD was anything but painless since people died from respiratory depression. Could the book (Peaceful Pill) be so wrong on this point? I know Bluelight is not into "Peaceful Pills" (and I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by posting this) but if one day I get terminally ill and need to make an end to it all, I want my family to find me dead with a smile on my face rather than contorted in a pool of blood and vomit.

I've watched someone OD on heroin and I'll say it really didn't look painless at all. Maybe if you took such an insane dose you were just knocked out and died without even knowing it you MIGHT die without pain, but I still remember the deathly noise that dude was making trying to gasp for air. I wouldn't want to experience that.

Never seen that and hope I don't. But it would at least make whatever way you die hurt less
right? I mean gasping for breath on heroin and dieing has to hurt less than gasping for
breath and dieing without it. I guess.

I was thinking compared to barbiturates. What is it that makes kicking the bucket on barbs different from kicking the bucket on H? Barbs are supposed the "kill me solftly" drug per se.

I'd imagine if you were put to sleep first and then given a strong Opiate then you would not be aware of such things happening.
It think that's what they do with common euthanasia methods, not sure though.

I've overdosed on heroin twice, and both times were just like getting really high and falling asleep. It just scares the hell out of the people that are watching - your family might find you with a smile on your face, but you'd still be fucking blue..

Not to bring any bad ideas into this forum, but an IV drip system like in the hospital would work fine.
Hit yourself knockout, after started the drip infusion.
Heck if you wanna end it, breaking into an er to steal a drip bag and all nescesary equipment will not be the biggest problem you have.
It's the loss of life that you should worry about.
I just had to remember how great life can be , if your free to go wherever and whenever you like

Allways remember, death is no escape.Emptyness and regret will not be forgotten by the soul, when the body dies...

I'm sure heroin overdose doesn't look seemly with the whole gasping and gurgling for air while having spasms. That's how my brother described my overdose, but for me, it felt like I nodded off and opened my eyes. I was pretty surprised to learn that quite some time went by when I came to.

Usually, people just nod out, and peacefully die.

It's not painless what so ever except if you're awake the only thing is that you know you're not breathing, but your so fucking high you don't give a fuck.

It's a little bit different when you take a pill and OD
The pill is not a instant rush, as you know you're on the verge of OD and you're still coming up on the pill, yet unable to do anything about it... So that leaves you with a few minutes, concious, unable to move, speak, or breathe and knowing your about to die

It's no fun, I've OD'd several times, it scarred me forever that day I OD'd on methadone, remembering every moment of it and unable to do anything about it luckily i was found, but i was face first on the floor, blue, not braething and cold.

@littlechino

that's what my Fent and Methadone overdose was like, I remember gasping for air, and unable to get any.

nice answer, if he was "trying" to grasp for air couldn't be that involuntary, besides not to burst anyones bubble but ive been "asleep" and had dreams about pain, not as simple as you make it out to be. I could be wrong though.

Wouldn't it partially depend on how much you overdose by?

If I wanted to kill myself, I'd just try something insane and memorable with about a 75% chance of death.

Or better yet lets just not kill ourselfs :)

when they put down pets, i believe they use fentanyl. they also use fentanyl in surgery to incapacitate individuals. would this a better way to do it?

There's nothing "better" about killing yourself in the end. Since it's not ultimately a good thing for you, there's nothing that can be made good or better about it.

With that being said, it isn't in Bluelight's interest to assist people who are looking for ways to terminate their lives, so I'm going to close this thread. I don't think it's appropriate to keep this open.
