I have experimented recreationally with painkillers off and on for the past 6 years. I'll go off and on with them and then switch to something else. Recently (the past month) I have been taken them about 5 days a week and sometimes doing an OC 80 or hydrocodone tens whatever is available. I havent done them for two days and now ive been sore and I ate 50 mg of hydrocodone tonight and it made me feel better but I didn't really have any euphoria or get very high at all. Am i building a high tolerance or risking any sort of addiction now? I dont feel like i have to take them i just enjoy them alot

You are on the brink of addiction IMO....i started off using just 1 hydrocodone a day for a real problem(car accident) then added 2 more(norco's) to that plus 30mg morphine...and that wasn't good enough after awhile. On the weekends I wouls score more of whatever was around, usually Roxi's and this went on for FIVE years..........do not go down this path unless you are really in pain. They are not worth the everyday "score" and then when you run out it is hell for 3 or 4 days.

Uh, it sounds to me like you've got a serious tolerance, and you may be becoming physically addicted (as evidenced by feeling crappy after not taking them, and feeling better, but not high, after 50mg of hydrocodone subsequently).

If you want to avoid addiction, you should stop taking opiates while you can, as it sounds like you're almost there.

I know how good they feel at first, but if you can only keep them for special times or to aid in comedowns of psych's/entactogens/stims they are a god send. I keep a few around for times when I really need them to function at work after a brutal weekend.

Good advice

I remember when i was coming down from doing adderall my first time after like a 6 month break and i took morphine and the comedown went away comepletly.

But i would really think about stopping using for awhile while you can, at least so your tolerence goes down.

ya man, u def sound like u should stop while u r still ahead, if ur already feeling unwell, it only get 100 times worse from here on in

yes ur risking seriouse addiction, 5 times a week is basically the same amount people use who are complete addicts (not being able to afford 2 more days)...

put it this way...keep it up, and ull be greatly sorry

addiction is nothing to fuck with, ul never be completly the same, you never just be able to "get off" of opies without the help of another opiate [or cold turkey]...

when it comes to addiction, and then u want to not be addicted, no matter what ull go thru withdrawls, even with a taper, even with suboxone

exactly, save ur opies and only use on special occasions

if ur in a good mood, going to drink or somthing, dont take them..

save them for xmas, chanika, birthday, ect.

yeah man you are real close to addiction right there. those feelings of soreness are withdrawal. do yourself a favor and withdraw completely before you lose yourself in addiction.

Sounds to me like your physically addicted to them but not yet mentally addicted. But your lucky because you are probably not even that physically addicted yet. I would quit using all opiods alltogether and enjoy a life free from the horrible addicts lifestyle.

i second that. I was in your position few years ago--i really enjoyed the feeling of it..and its completely inevitable that you will just keep taking more and more and more to the point where if you DO stop..its just not mildly uncomfortable...its downright BRUTAL. I remember the first couple of times i experienced (albeit minor) W/D's...and couldnt, for the life of me, figure out why i was so ridiculously lethargic, minor aches..esp in legs with touch of the RLS. hindsight is 20/20--but man...i soooooo wish i had stopped then and there. Now if i dont have any..i simply cant function and i am freaking miserable both physically and mentally.

Your tolerance will skyrocket too..and that just means more $$ spent to achieve the same results (not even the same because you'll keep chasing those first few experiences).

Many sleepness nights, many miserable days, schloads and schloads of money pissed away, and while i was in denial for some time to the fact..but it cost me my dream job. My life has changed for the worst and destroyed my credit and feeling of confidence and self-value. I am incredibly disappointed in where my life is at right now and alot of it goes back to this addiction.

Trust me bro....quit while you can. As others have mentioned here--Not a good road to go down and nothing good will come from it.

I wish i had asked myself this question when it was still recreational for me rather than a requirement to feel 'normal'----what do I hope to accomplish by going down this road? where will it lead me? what good will come from it? what it the end goal?

Get out while you can my man!!!

well i haven't taken any at all since my last dose on friday night( just been smoking a ton of pot) that sore feeling has come back and my stomach has been pretty tore up but i'm just gonna ride it out a few more days and then try to keep it just recreational.

Yes you are at the fork in the road, one way addiction, the other a good free of chemical dependence life. So if i were you i would cut back for a good while, and if you find it hard to quit then you might have a problem that you should be careful of. Opiates are tricky motherfucker you think your fine, and then the next minute you are dope sick doing stupid shit. Give yourself a break and try to stay away of the painkillers for a good while.

Honestly just keep smoking that pot dude. you'll be much better off IMO. You can always use Loperamide for the stomach issues, but use it sparingly as you don't want to be physically addicted to something else.

i agree completely, i smoke weed every day for my stomach, my whole digestive system (from mouth to anus, haha)

i have ibs and a dope addiction, ive found lope to be effective only for WD, and if done like this it will help with the shits..... smoking weed and a proper diet will help otherwise.....

if on bupe, or any other opiod or opiate, a very high fiber diet is good. using stool softeners or laxatives sparingly.

I cant stress this enough... I wish I had just stuck to the pot.. I wish I could erase the day that i discovered opiates from my life.. Its been a battle ever since.

figured i would chime in here;
has anyone ever experienced withdrawal or physical addiction from using small to moderate amounts of oxy once a week?

ive been using for about 5 months, but never more than 20mg in a night, and about every 10 days roughly

no.. you wont become physically addicted by using once a week.. but the longer this goes on.. the more of a chance there is that either a. your dosage goes up, or b. you use more frequently.

Be careful.. you are not the exception.. before you know it the occasional dose will turn into just weekends.. then having a little bit left over and taking it to work with u on monday, then saying fuck it and dosing tuesday.. next thing u know ur calling your guy at 7 am because you woke up in a pool of sweat.

:)

Your heading in a bad place man, i mean 50mg hydro and no good feelings, heh. I use occasionally and have been for a while and 15 mg can still get me off.
