So I have been reading this site for a long while now and always scared of being yelled out for posting the wrong thing. I am at a crossroad, probably mild by some standpoints, but still there. I have been taking lortab for pain for over a year. I have had multiple surgeries to correct the problem that has not worked It has come to this last surgery or enter pain mangement. What the hell is that? I need advice. Do pain managment or live w/o the lortabs from this current doctor who has been writing them for over a year.

If the surgery is a sure fix, I would 100% take that.

If it's just another pointless expensive surgery that has little guarantee of success, pain management might be the best route...your pain will be managed with pharmaceutical drugs...being that your in Florida I think you have a 99.99999% chance you will be put on opiates (stronger than loritab).

This is just my opinion, but with that 99.99% chance of being put on stronger opiates, comes a 99.99% chance you will face a lifetime of addiction.

Honestly, IMO (I was always a recreational drug user, and have no pain, so I am really talkin out of my ass), I would rather take the fork in the road that avoids the possible, and probably crippling opiate addiction.

I am a heroin addict.. Really a miserable life I feel like I am just sick fucking all the time. But I mean, if you are in pain, and surgeries dont work and stuff...you have to decide, live with pain, or live with pain management. If the pain is real bad, its probably as miserable as like addicted to dope.

Yes do not move up the opiate ladder please...I have a pain management doc and she is more of a "drug pusher" than my pusherman is. Hydrocodone is my main daily pain killer but even a switch over to t4's might help(just to switch things up a bit).

If you have the opportunity to get a surgery which will fix your issue and make your pain go away, I would more than likely go through with it. If not, pain management is nothing to be afraid of; they will help manage your pain with medicine, and also explore other means to keep it at bay such as physical therapy and the like. But like someone said, don't just start upping your dose and getting them to write you more powerful scrips, because you will eventually end up ina world of shit from chasing a high. if you are content with your hydrocodone, pain management should have no problem keeping you on that.

I had been battling cancer last year, and had a painful tumor on my spine. Although I was on MMT during this time, I went to pain management and they had me on 24mg of dilaudid a day within a months time. They really can sometimes go overboard with the pills. Being the junky at heart that I am, of course I took that much a day, usually more, started shooting them again, etc etc. fucked my MMT taper all up.

whatever you end up doing, i wish you luck ; chronic pain is a horrible thing to have to try and deal with.

hi i am after some advice, i am a h user of 20 plus yrs and am on a meth reduction at the moment, the problem i have is that i have severe arthritis in my knee, my consultant says i need a knee replacement,
well the only pain killers im given from my Gp is tramadol and naproxen, well they are not even touching the pain, i am taking 200 mg of tramadol a day, plus 200mgmg of the naproxen, plus this week 12ml of methodone daily, but none of this is helping at all, i am using half a gramme of h a day as well and its only this that helps obviously
so my question is what can i try and get my gp to prescribe me that will give me pain relief, obviously im not worried about getting addicted
as i already am but what do you think would give me some relief from the pain, any in put would be greatly appreciated, thanx

Is there a pain management forum? or is that a no no? I only ask because I have had a hell of a time finding a doctor to see me, which I'd guess is because the one I saw for almost 8 years lost her license. This is even with 20 yrs of records to back-up the fact I'm legit! ok done whining now, thanks and have a great night folks
