Wasn't sure where to put this one and thought I would call on my BL friends for expertise/advice.

I've had chronic pain for almost 10 years. I've been prescribed hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone and various muscle relaxers over the years, at different times.

I used hydrocodone more than anything else. That and methadone were always most effective for managing my pain. I'm still not sure I was ever addicted to any of them, even though I did sometimes take more hydros than prescribed (sometimes would run out of Rx 3-4 days early and then just deal with it until it was time for my refill). Never doctor shopped, never bought off the street, you get the point...

Well I decided I didn't want to take opiates to control my pain anymore mostly because I hate the stigma and the feeling I used to get when having to call the doctor/nurse for my refills (mostly the nurses). I really had some negative experiences and finally got fed up.

So it has been months since I've had any opiate to manage my pain. And the pain really sucks. I know a lot of people on here know about pharmacology and have personal experience with different drugs. Can you tell me any good alternatives for treating long term nerve/disc pain?
