for one month when i was talking to him about my tolerence. i've been on the same amount of pain meds for 2 years. he suggested i stop for a month to lower my tolerence. does this make any sense?

"does this make any sense?"

Well that really depends on how much gear you are taking, how much you like being freezing cold then boiling, to have your bones ache like they are on fire, and the best bit, how much you enjoy your head feeling like a running screaming riot??

That's unethical and hell I guess some people may even consider it immoral. His intentions may be right;it would be better to lower your tolerance, but the route he suggested his just unethical and hell I'll be honest - mean.

what else did he say? he obviously knows this would throw you into withdraws.
there has got to be more to this story.

Well before this i didnt even think docters worried about tolerance, especially just to throw you back on all the same stuff right after. Seems like a pointless hassle to me. You havnt upped your dose in 2 years? Why fuck with a perfect thing. Thinking about this more confuses me.

Sounds like he's giving you the boot.

When a patient starts talking about drug bioavailability, different types of strong narcotics, instant release/time release, ect. (as you've said in a recent thread you started) it's going to raise some red flags with a doctor imo.

not much. i told him i want to change my meds because of my tolerence. I told him cross tolerence was'nt 100%. I told him i wanted Opana ER to replace fententl and he said it was too strong which is bs, fent is the strongest drug out there and he'd give me oxycotin. So I said no i'll stick with the patch.
gave me msirs 15 to place my oxyirs. before this he said i could stop for a month in regards of my tolerence. it was like a "i'm not giving you more so you can do this or switch meds"

i research my medication and am well educated about them. When he talked about morphine i told him it has a low oral bioavilabilty. and he said that is why he is giving me 15mg x4 a day when i was on 20mg oxy/day

i am having more pain with my patch on then i was before. and i have to take 2-3 tabs of my b/t meds at a time to help it, but i am only given 4 tablets a/day

^^ to me it sounds like your doc suspects you of possibly being an abuser or a drug seeker

u made a thread about where the good viens are awhile back.

do u have track marks?

ever gone into a dr. apt. having run out and in WDs gettin ur new months script?

if not i might look into a new Dr.. I can understand not wantin to leave someone who has been "hookin it up" for the last couple years but i would look elsewhere, Dr.s are a dime a dozen

an all around good Dr. is a rarity IMO

Did you actually leave the office without a prescription in hand? If not, he was probably just giving you the heads up that, "I'm the doctor, you're the patient - take what I prescribe or don't ... it's up to you!"

If he had you walk out without a script in hand, then that's a different story ...

Buck

^I agree with that. It could be that he got irritated and just retorted something back to you. If you didn't get medicine that you were supposed to get, though, that's obviously different.

yea. i get two scripts of each

two fentanyl scripts for 15 patches each

and two scripts of msir or oxyir

i also get 90 days 360 somas from him via aetna mail order. 90 day supply every 2 months for 10 bucks shipped. he calls two fills in every 6 months

i moved last april and asked him if i could come every other month and get 60 days worth of meds, and he was fine with it. so he post dates the second ones 30 days

that day i got fentanyl and msir
my second set of scripts were for fent and oxyir

he told me to try out the msir for a month and if i like it better, send in my oxyir script and he'd mail me a msir script.

i am seeing him the 10th

and in regards to w/d, i always save my meds to take on the day i see him, and he is supposed to give me a UT every 3 months, the last one i had was a long time ago. i get like one a year. he mentioned it last time but did'nt give me one. i told him i took one my last visist which was true.

other then that i see his pa every other month and she's hot and she just asks how i'm doing and writes me scripts. i only asked to see him the next time because it was a long time and i wanted to see if i could switch my meds

after i got in a car accident, i was put on lortabs for 3 months, same dose, no decrease throughout the injury, they stopped me cold turkey when they noticed my injury healing, i was in WD..

Your doctor saying that you can either stay on your current dose, switch to a different opioid, or stop taking it is NOT the same thing as making you stop taking it. You have other options.

Hey guys,

This is an old thread - it was bumped by someone posting in the wrong place, and the posts removed. Bit confusing I know, but the OP sarted it in 2010 and is unlikely to come back to check it, and traffic here moves fast so I'm going to close it :)

Closed, PM me with any queries.
