I discovered this website while my methadone dose was dropping precipitiously due to an upcoming move which required a switch to Suboxone. My husband & I are moving to an area of the Pacific NW with many rivers to kayak, in addition to a calm bay steps away from our new home and lagoons just up the road. This lovely place reminds me of the West Coast of Ireland, with redwoods!
Writing on this forum has provided a much-needed outlet as the drop in mdone. allowed desire to flare dangerously from the safe pilot light of MMT. On this forum I write about my long dance with Lady Opium, on other websites I write about a stunningly beautiful Spring hike or my last kayaking trip.
My relationship w/Opium finds expression in choreography; I'm currently developing a duet to Ravel's Pavane pour une Infante Defunte (Pavane for a Dead Princess). This music accurately expresses my experience w/Opium.
I am very interested in reading the posts of other artists who find inspiration or material in opiates.

Welcome to Bluelight!

I moved your post into its own new thread so you can welcome yourself to the community in style. %)

If you have any other requests or questions about the rules, procedures, or where to post something, feel free to send a private message to me. :)

Welcome! I am semi-moving from the PNW-to the Midwest, but I love the PNW. I'm not sure if you are moving to the PNW, or just to a different area but I hope you enjoy the new area and this site, I am new too but I find both (the site and PNW) to be excellent realms for the body and mind :)

Thank you all! The PNW is such a healing place with a bursting cornucopia of natural beauty and most holy water which will provide days of kayaking and observing marine life -- perfect medicine for expanding my view of the wonders around me and reducing my focus on Mother Opium.
Many of my posts reflect my view of Opium as a deity, a mother/lover who gives and smacks with the same hand. I hope the Suboxone and the pleasures of the new area will dilute the intensity of our relationship. I'm blessed with a loving family and many interests; I suppose if I had to suddenly, dramatically reduce the frequency of time spent with my mother I would write lovingly and obsessively about her! This is a hopeful, but very difficult, time.
