"Darkness cannot be dissipated with more darkness.
Students at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania can get the "morning-after" pill by sliding $25 into a vending machine, an idea that has drawn the attention of federal regulators and raised questions about how accessible emergency contraception should be.

The student health center at Shippensburg, a secluded public institution of 8,300 students tucked between mountain ridges in the Cumberland Valley, provides the Plan B One Step emergency contraceptive in the vending machine along with condoms, decongestants and pregnancy tests.

"I think it's great that the school is giving us this option," junior Chelsea Wehking said Tuesday. "I've heard some kids say they'd be too embarrassed" to go into town — Shippensburg, permanent population about 6,000 — and buy Plan B.

Federal law makes the pill available without a prescription to anyone 17 or older, and the school checked records and found that all current students are that age or older, a spokesman said. It doesn't appear that any other vending machine in the U.S. dispenses the contraceptive, which can prevent pregnancy if taken soon after sexual intercourse.

The machine has been in place for about two years, and its existence wasn't widely known until recently. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is contacting state officials and the university to gather facts, agency spokeswoman Stephanie Yao said Tuesday.

LOL!!! I got accepted to that university. I didn't go though because every kid from my high school goes there. Well that's a good thing they offer it because mainly whores go there and people who just drink 24/7 thinking they're the shit.

Every contraceptive pill sold is one less unwanted child brought up in a broken home.

i think we should do our best to raise our genius stock from positive and friendly households.

otherwise they might become a mad scientist and blow things up.

Just for argument's sake, contraception doesn't kill a human, but abortion might (depending on your definition of "human"). If someone believes that a zygote is a human, I don't think any amount of reasoning can shake them from that belief.

^ I agree that this issue seems very black and white to both opposing sides.
And your comment made me think of a class I took on the Jaina religion of India.
They believe that there are "water bodies" living in water, and since Jainism is based on non-violence, "advanced" people don't boil their own water, since it would be killing (they get the newbies to do it for them!).
To try to argue with them that there are no water bodies, or that, if there are, they may be bacteria - which is really okay to kill, I promise - would most likely end in utter defeat.
People don't change this type of basic belief based on logic.
It's more about "this is what my Daddy believed".

However, calling a Zygote human, or the use of a condom (or masturbation) murder (as Aether mentioned), is something that is sufficiently far-removed from reality that I think it is possible to fight it in court, and win.

(I say this mostly because I would be the worst serial killer ever 8o)

Hey now...........my sister graduated from there & she isnt a hoe, yo, in fact she married her college boyfriend. I had several cousins & friends graduate from there as well.........

I use to party up in Ship, I like that little town........use to party there & Dickinson College in Carlisle.

As for the pill, its a good idea but a lot of people believe its an easy way to abort a child & I can see where they are coming from but with all the sex going down in colleges all over the nation.

(And calling the termination of pregnancy "murder", especially that early on, seems like a long stretch to me.)
It's no more "murder than the zygote". contraception is not murder IMO but it does get kind of iffy once it is fertilized and has organs, heartbeat etc.

this is a good thing I think it's better to prevent pregnancies than to terminate them.

and beside this machine is another full of condoms
inbetween the 2, sign says "too late for that fucktard gotta pay $25 now"
