am i reading this correctly, does that say 5 hours of Farina?

Is he playing house or a mix of house and his mushroom jazz style? If it's 5 hours of mushroom jazz, that's kinda cool, but i wouldn't spend 35 bucks to see that, i'd get more enjoyment popping in one of the cd's then trying to enjoy it and dealing with ravers. and honestly, farina is the only reason i'd swing down.

would this be worth the hassle of holiday summertime travel, jacked up hotel prices and hot stickyness associated with summer parties?

i don't know... it looks like farina will be indoors, and it gets GROSS in the indoors main room. bah!

i went to this last year and had an awesome time in philly...can't afford to make the 7 hour drive this year though.

and i don't remember the inside room being THAT bad...really i don't recall it being bad at all.

Yeah I'm seriously considering coming down to this. Whistle was my first time at Shampoo, and I thought it was a fine venue. Tripping there and walking between the rooms felt a lot like being in Wonderland. I'd gladly party there again.

Infected mushroom put on a great show. I remember seeing them at Ultra 2005, and I remember they had this sick guitarist who, in my fuktuptitude, reminded me of Slash.

good golly. and it looks like buzzlife isn't doing firecracker this year either.

Is there any chance this event will be cancelled due to flooding? I live on the Susquehanna, and it's out of control. I can't imagine what the mouth of the Delaware looks like right now.

Its 7 right now and I'm leaving for BANG in an hour. With traffic and all hopefully me & my friends will be there around 10-11pm. Time to test my energy to see if I have some left over from Starscape to party with. hahha Are you fuckin kidding, I'm ready. When you party with other people that are straight dancers you can't be tired around them. hahah, so yeah I'm ready! I'll be sporting tan brown UFOs with a white shirt and a headband. And need I say that offcourse the hotness will be all about me! lol I'm going to try to sneak in a camera. Party up people!

Great party. It was definitely a fun time. Crowded, but not crowded. That mainroom was hella hot, but I was barely there anyway, just walked thru trying to catch the vibe there, but left because of it being too hot & stuffy in there. I stuck to the house area & the DnB area. Back & forth keeping my energy up to partying the whole night in those areas. And people could get their dance on cause there was space and everyone was doing just that. Vibe was also on-point too. I've always enjoyed the Philly vibe. Great turnout. I talked to people from OH, Mass, NY, etc. As for the djs and their sets...........wonderful. Mark Farina had the dancefloor moving all 5hrs. long. And he was one of the main reasons I went. A medium sized room, a hot & sweattynd very cool inside, far from beingvery c
Outside area with the DnB had so allot energy thruout the night. Ed Rush, Optical w/ mc Sharpness & Armanni Reigh taking turns back & forth was hot. My particular favorite highlights in that area was when they played The Fugees - Ready or Not & Rick Ross - Hustlin. I'm sorry but I fucking love that Rick Ross song. If you don't know its a Miami rap song about their lifestyle of dealing & hustling cocaine. (yes its very much a ghetto thang)
So yeah from 11 til the end of the party I stayed and had allot of fun. Had loads of energy to rockout, so yeah I was very happy to getting my dance-on. And I saw allot of people I knew which also made the night fun. We even went to the afterparty @ club Polaris from 6am - 2pm, but we only stayed til 9am before leaving. And there it was just a chilled time to just hangout.

Sorry no pics from BANG, like I knew they don't allow cameras in Shampoo. ANyway it was a fun partying night. And I still have 2 days more left to my July 4th wknd. More adventures & fun for me!!

^^^ I agree with everything you said, especially the "crowded, but not crowded" comment. The way I'd put it was "well attended, but not packed."

I'm starting to realize I enjoy Philly parties more that NYC parties. Although NYC attracts bigger names to swankier venues, the crowds that show up to raves, concerts, festies etc. there are too 'street' for my tastes. Nothing kills my roll or trip more than attempting to talk to a fellow partier and getting the world-famous New York brushoff.

That said, I met a couple awesome ppl from NYC at Bang! (notice where they're partying, tho.)

I thought the vibe was great. Did anyone notice how it changed over the course of the night, tho? From around 10~1 I felt like I was definitely in a club. A club crowd, wearing club clothes, more pop-friendly music. By the time Infected Mushroom came on, it definitely felt more like what I think of as a massive rave, both in terms of people's attitudes and the music and dancing. After IM and until the end, it felt like a small, tight crowd of hardcore bohemian / artist types, like what you'd find in the basement of the 'druggie frat' at your local college. Good times all around.

What the HELL was up with security?! They seemed to be tripping on power, randomly jacking people up against walls and searching them. I politely asked the dude at the front door if they were allowing in and out. He rudely told me no, and as I was making up my mind whether to bring my backpack in, he yells at me, "and ya can't stand here neither!" I didn't see any troublemakers there that night, so I felt this level of fascism was totally uncalled for.

If you saw a skinny dude with a wifebeater, a chinstrap, and a black and white striped fishing hat, you saw me.

hey good reply to that BANG party. It was a good party all around. The reason why it seemed like a club event at first was because its was advertised in their citypaper as a club party, so that drew the cluber type people, but offcourse looking at the dj lineup ravers know that its going to be a rave-type party, so thats why there was a mix of party people there.

And yeah allot of NY people were there too. Allot of friends of mine whom I didn't expect to come down from NY came to it, but it was a good surprise to know more people to having a better time. Philly parties are always good, just as good as NY parties, but big parties don't happen much there and are way more frequent in NY and specially with the performers they book for up there.

And that NY attitude and NY state-of-mind you spoke about, hey every state has there style that they bring when they go to an out-of-state party. You feel me, so yeah it may be "too street", but the party scene is also built on people with madd different styles showcasing it. Me I can most definitely tell at parties when someone is from NY. Whether its the way they dance, the gear they wear and the attitude about them. anyways I just talk about NY allot because its my 2nd hometown growing up. Yes NY people are crazy!!

And security @ Shampoo is always firm. The outside area by the DnB for smoking I was out there talking to some people and I watch 3 security call this one girl over and searched her and found drugs on her. And she got arrested on the spot and walked out that same area and into a police van . I mean she was being hot about her business anyways outside like that. But thats how security there is.

Anyways definitely a good party
