Yeah,
I partly joined up to chat with some locals, loooong time lurker and lover of some of the great minds.
Can't recall to many names, maybe they were old threads, but there was this one dude, Leftwing, I always felt we were alarmingly similar!

Incidentally, if there isn't much happening on the Australian boards (I keep strange hours, so it's the norm for me), there is usually some interesting discussion happening somewhere on the forum - just depends where your interests lie.
Took me some time to get acquainted with other parts of the forum, even though I lurked here for years before making an account.
Talking with Australians is good, but talking to people further afield is great too.

The off topic thread was always a popular thread in here over the years. I will consider what a good thread or two would be to start and I encourage other to start threads they think would be interesting. Maybe photography, spring/summer, tv shows or things in the news here at the moment? Plus I hear whispers that angeleyes is offering to start a thread where he will do ms paint impressionist portraits for anyone who asks

Agreed, there is many a fine convo to be held with international dudes! I too keep to random hours so it's great to meet new ppl.
I guess my motivation to starting this thread was to maybe hear from some of the guys that gave me invaluable info, support, or guidance, (albeit without their knowledge), as an A+ Luuuurker
