Anyone familiar with it? Lots of info on the net about it. Looks promising. I can not find any info stating dosages of oxycodone to naltrexone though.

If you are not familiar with it but are an opiod head like myself you will want to know what this drug is. I see plenty of studies stating it can decrease the likelyhood of tolerance going up but nothing stating it will reduce tolerance which is what I need BADLY!!!!!! I am sure I am not alone on that.

nm. Found it. Well half of it. Can't find an oxycodone dosage but found out the naltrexone dosage is 1 microgram. Well that was in the one study I found that listed some kind of dosage.

interesting that they are tryin all these Oxy and Antagonist mixes

yesterday someone made a post about a pill whose brand name started w/ T

it was Oxycodone and Nalaxone

would the oxy just outcompete the antagonist in the same manor bupe competes nalaxone? or would the antagonist actually deter use of different ROAs in this pills case? anyone know?

Think it would more, like the OP said, mess with tolerance. At least the naltrexone one. The LDN would keep opiate receptors building despite not needing them through oxy usage. The Naloxone one might be the one i heard about where if you break it open the wrong way a bunch of naloxone mixes with it and makes unsnortable, let alone shootable.

Do i have my antagonists mixed up? Damn ambien...:p

Although there are studies out there that show some promise from using ultra low dose antagonists to lower tolerance, it will have no effect on withdrawal, which like tolerance will be inevitable. :\

Also, like someone said above, it could be detrimental to other roa's, specifically intranasal and iv. (Not that you should be shooting to begin with.)

I've been neglecting my reading of Bluelight lately, so there may been some interesting evidence shown for real uses of such mixes. But, I think these pills are most promising for the companies that need a new oxycodone pain tablet that won't have generics available for several years.

Really? you think that 1 microgram would actually exert an antagonistic effect in this formulation? I really dont see how such a miniscule dosage could act as an antagonist here, regardless of route of admin...but who knows, i've bee wrong before (rarely;))-DG

Initially I thought doese in the mcgs were too low to make an impact but look at bupe. People jump off at .25mg and still experience withdrawal. considering that it is sublingual that .25 is significantly lower. Some of these drugs are very powerful.

is this for pain management patients, who are taking oxy for extended periods? i don't get what the naltrexone is for, especially since in suboxone it's apparently almost useless

Sounds like what they did with Talwin back in the day, and that drug has cooincidentally fallen off as a drug of abuse. I forget the mix in that pill naloxone not naltrexone though, now I think its Talwin NX.

Most likely its in there to prevent abuse or to scare ppl into preventing abuse. I could be wrong though...

peace,
seedless

ok let me get this straight, would say 60mg of oxycontin and 5.5 mcgs of naltrexone mixed together in the body cause rapid withdrawal or get them high? I dont understand how you could mix oxycontin and naltrexone and the naltrexone not block the oxy completely and make you sick ?

I didn't know how much was actually there. No, it probably won't have (much of) an antagonistic effect, even if shot. Still, if I were to shoot this, I'd heavily research naltrexone dosages before doing it.

I thought I read about them doing this to counteract opioid induced constipation in chronic pain patients.I still wouldn't wanna try it no matter how small the dose of naltrexone or naloxone or w/e is in them.

it is hard to imagine 100,000th of a dose relative tot he oxycodone dose having any effect but it does. Also they claim to eliminate dependence (literally in a day for short term addiction)

http://www.annieappleseedproject.org/ullownaltopr.html

After 5 days of opiate treatment, the animals exhibited signs of withdrawal when the opiate was discontinued. However, Dr. Crain said, when they were co-treated with naltrexone, no withdrawal symptoms developed.

"Furthermore," he added, "after having animals go through morphine treatment for 5 days so that they become tolerant and dependent, we can reverse the tolerance within a day if we add for the first time the low dose of naltrexone along with the same dose of morphine."

I ordered some Naltrexone. I am going to try it. My plan is as follows.

1. Use 100,000th the naltrexone alongside the oxycodone dose for 2 weeks in an attempt to defeat the physical dependence.

2. Assuming that works then go on low dose naltrexone (3mgs at bedtime) to jump start natural endorphins.

The difference between using 3mgs vs 50mgs is they both cause a 200-300% increase in endorphins in almost all subjects but the low dose only blocks the receptors for up to 4 hours while the increase in endorphins lasts over 24 hours whereas the 50mg dose would block the receptors for 28 hours therefore never receiving the benefit of the increase.

If the addiction reversal doesn't work then I am going to man up and stay sick for 72 hours after tapering as low as possible in an attempt to not experience PW.

This may actually be the cure to opiate addiction.

You know what this sounds like to me?

It sounds like a way to get a patent, another way to make narcotics "safe" and not subject to abuse, and.. *drumroll* another way for a pharma company to make big money.

1 microgram of naltrexone? That's going to do absolutely nothing. You would have that much of the drug absorb through your skin if you just touched a naltrexone pill with sweaty palms.

It would be a lot more plausible if it was like 1mg of naltrexone along with say 20 mg of oxy.

Exactly, I use about 26 micrograms in a shot. Buprenorphine is a very powerful opiate.

I'm not sure if 1mcg of naltrexone is enough to deter people from IVing these tables though, but it would be interesting to find out.

In the end I think its just going to be whatever pharm company is putting these out telling the FDA it reduces/eliminates the ability to inject/crush/otherwise abuse this formulation.

Fixing opiate induced constipation without reducing the effectiveness of the opiate on the CNS would be fucking awesome though;)

AFAIK, there are a few agonist/antagonist combinations in the works.

There are a few with ultra-low doses, in the hopes of reducing the rate at which tolerance builds, and the severity of withdrawal.

There is also some research on combinations of a non-bbb-crossing antagonist (think loperamide in reverse) and a normal agonist, to prevent opiate-related constipation.

Plus, of course, the non-orally-active antagonist + orally active agonist to prevent abuse (or at least, abuse through non-oral ROAs), which is i think what Oxytrex is.
