Oxynorm question

Ive been offered some (250/280ml not quite sure what size bottle?) OxyNorm liquid 5 mg/5 ml oral solution which so im told is the equivalent of however many doses a 250 or 280ml bottle gives you. (many doses apparently)

im used to taking 160mg oxycontin (OC) tabs crushed up and swallowed orally for a decent hit.

Does anybody know the comparative difference in strength between oxynorm and oxycontin?

Obviously from what im aware oxynorm is instant release whereas oxycontin is controlled release unless you defeat the time release mechanism,hence the crushing it up into powder.

Id just like some idea of the strength comparison as i dont want to do myself any harm or possibly OD

Also is oxynorm liquid just drank straight down or do you have to IV it? as im not into injecting (infact im petrified of needles?

If you're using to 160mg oxycodone instant release (which is effectively what you're doing when you crush up a 160mg OxyContin and swallow it then)...

a 250mL bottle of OxyNorm 5mg/mL means that is 1mg/mL so there should be 250mg of oxycodone in the bottle. That's about 1.5 times as much oxycodone as a 160mg OxyContin tablet crushed up and swallowed, since both OxyNorm and crushed up OxyContin are instant-release oxycodone.

However, if its a 280mL bottle, than its 280mg of oxycodone.

I would start with half the bottle (125mg if its a 250mL bottle, 140mg if its a 280mL bottle) and see where that takes you. Its a bit lower than your 160mg usual dosage, but will probably hit you faster, and that's why I'm recommending a lower dosage.

Man I was under the impression that purdue discontinued the 160mg tablet? I am wrong? i always dream about getting a 160mg tab. haha sorry to go off topic but shit i wanna know if their still making these bad ass sob

I crush up 2 x 80mg Napp Oxycontin tabs.

I wish Purdue did still make these tabs
