ok so oxycodone is converted to oxymorphone in your body right?
I see that they make oxymorphone which I believe is for IV use only but it does not seem to be very popular.
Why is that?
Is it stronger?
Has is been or is it available in pill form?
How does it compare to consuming oxycodone?
 
oxymorphone is supposedly amazing...but impossible to obtain..that is why u never hear about it...
 
To be popular requires that lots of people try it and have lots of good things to say about it to other people...

I think parabola explained perfectly why it's not popular; which is different to desirable (from what I've read about oxymorphone, I think desirable would be an understatement)

There are quite a few opiates that would be popular if there was enough of them knocking about, for people to express an opinion on (such as ketobemidone)

I mean, can you imagine what diacetyldihydromorphine (the heroin analogue formed from dihydromorphine, as opposed to plain ol' morphine) would be like?

Oxymorphone is a very potent opioid analgesic. One reason why it isn't so popular on the streets is because it is used more in surgery settings and isn't prescribed much to the patient, rather than being used in hospitals. If oxymorphone was being supplied and prescribed as much as OxyContin, believe me, it would be just, if not, more popular. Another reason that oxymorphone wouldn't be as popular to the 'pill popper junkies" is because it only comes in ampuls for injection and rectal suppositorys.

How does it compare to consuming oxycodone?

Oxymorphone is 20X more potent than intravenous morphine, they come in 1mg/mL and 1.5mg/mL ampuls and 5mg suppositories. The ampuls only contain 8mL. I would compare a 1.5mg hit to an 80mg OxyContin or something like that. What makes this drug so great is that even if you IV the shit, it lasts up to five hours. Only twice have a had the pleasure to play around with a couple ampuls. I rigged an entire 1.5mg ampul...the experience was so beautiful...it was better than the high that I had been trying to catch for over six years. Almost OD'd but I would have died happy. I don't think that I'll catch that high again.

I think the reason why I enjoyed it so much is because I'm in love with oxycodone and being one of its active metabolites, it has similar features. You know how oxycodone seems to produce more of a euphoric and excitment state than most opioids.Keep walking up those stairs and you'll know what I mean...

If any newbies or even those with a mild to moderate tolerance get their hands on this product, go no higher than 1.5mg.

Is oxymorphone similar to hydromorphone? If so it must be some good stuff. Hydromorphone is probably one of the best opioids I've ever tried.
 
A small portion of hydrocodone is converted to hydromorphone by cytochrome P450-2D6 (CYP2D6). Oxymorphone, the active metabolite of oxycodone, is also formed in a reaction catalyzed by CYP2D6.

However, hydromorphone does not have a major role in the analgesic or adverse effect profile of hydrocodone.

Oxymorphone is easily more potent than hydromorphone. Oxymorphone is more exciting/stimulating and euphoric than hydromorphone. Intravenous oxymorphone also lasts much longer than intravenous hydromorphone. Oxymorphone lasts 4-6 hours! The intravenous hydromorphone is very short but also has a great rush.

K'd when you say it last 4-6 hours is that duration of full effects?

your wrong. Oxymorphone has come in pills. I had some numorphan 10mg tablets around 1985. they were small and blue
 
^it could have been mentioned in one of there drug hauls but I think there 'favorite' scores in that movie were the '1/4 gram amp's of powdered Dilaudud (Hydromorphone)
 
The Drugstore Cowboy drug was Dilaudid, which is Hydromorphone.

Hydromorphone is 8 times more powerful than IV Morphine... interesting to see that oxymorphone is much more powerful.

Looks like oxymorphone is about 2 1/2 times as powerful as dilaudid.
