OxyIR shortage FTL, Anyone else have issues?

I drove 3 hours to my old home town to see my pain dr's PA-C to get two months worth of scripts sinice i moved so far. I also had a dentiest apt for a cavity filling


Anyway, she is fucking hot as hell, prolly 30. She gave me two scripts for fentanyl patches 15 each script, two scripts for 120 oxyirs, 90 somas, and 120 valiums



ANYWAY

I WENT TO 18 Pharmacies and NONE had any oxycodone IR capsules

I went to CVS once i crossed over from PA to NJ, and same thing :! sorry we are on back order

It was amazing how many shitty looking people work at these places


Anyway, i'm an hour from home, i stop at a wegmans about an hour from my current home which sucks, and they had some, but not even half of what my script was.

She said earlier in the day some guy got a whole bunch of them.

But the good news is more are coming in tomorrow, so i left my script there to be filled

BUT IT IS FUCKING HIDEOUS I HAVE TO END UP DRIVING TWO HOURS FOR THESE WHEN I HAVE PHARMACY'S EVERYWHERE


ONE PHARM MANAGER TOLD ME TO SWITCH TO OXYFAST

ANOTHER SAID THAT NO ONE IS ORDERING THEM ANYMORE THE 5MG AND 15MG INSTANT RELEASES UNTIL COOPERATE GETS A GOOD BID ON WHO THE NEW SUPPLIERS ARE and get the cheapest price

they have been on back order for months CVS, wallgreens ekard, shoprite, kmart, i went to them all
 
yes there is a confirmed shortage (http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/shortages/#Current). several manufacturers of generic oxycodone IR have recalled their product, so there is only one major manufacturer--mallinckrodt--producing it and so demand exceeds supply.

i recommend finding the phone numbers of all the major pharmacy chains in your area and speaking with a pharmacist at each of them to determine availability, as it is usually varies a lot from one chain to another more than it does from store to store. for example, in my area walgreen's is currently unable to order any since they order from one of the manufacturer's that recalled the drug, but long's (a major pharmacy chain around here) can order them without a problem since they have a longstanding relationship with mallinckrodt.

if no luck, you could ask your doc to switch you to oxycodone liquid (since this is the same drug as oxyIR tabs, just a different formulation, your PA could probably authorize the switch with your pharmacist over the phone saving you the trouble of getting a new script), hydromorphone tabs, or morphine IR (would need a new script for this, but the doc could mail one to you).

when i had two molars removed and one wisdom tooth, i got a script for 18 10mg perks

i was like, i told you guys on the form, i can't have APAP

then he comes in and hands me a rx for a bottle of oxyfast

600mg of oxycodone in a small bottle <3
 
i got them filled at a wegmans food store in NJ on my way home, and gave them my post dated script for another 120 oxyir 5mgs to be filled on may 22nd

place is an hour drive away and i got them in tablet form, not capsules
