Hey all I'm new to the forums although I have been browsing them for years now. I have been using oxycontin for about the past year now. I never had a prescription, just recreational user...if you can even call it that at this point. On average I have been doing about 120mg daily(only for the past month or two), give or take a day here and there. I have been talking about getting off of these for awhile now and finally started wednesday. I have been self medicating by taking about 2mg of suboxone in the morning and 2mg at niight. Today is my third day without a pill. Even with suboxone, yesterday was a bitch and today it got better and hasn't been as bad. I plan on not having to take any suboxone after tomorrow. By day 5 I should be done with the physical withdrawals and have it out of my system at the rate I'm at, correct?

If I were to do a pill after 6 days of being clean would I start withdrawal symptoms all over again the next day, or would I be straight? This is just a hypothetical situation, I don't plan on actually doing this i just haven't gotten a straight answer and would like to know. Most of my friends say that they have been fine if they just do it for one day and no more after 5 or 6 days, but I've also heard to give it a week to be safe...I really just want a straight answer on this if anyone can help. Thanks

playing w/ fire. I know after being clean for 2 months, if I did oxy a few days in a row, Id get w/ds again.

Not sure about one day, but damn man, I wouldnt risk it

In my experience, i would still get w/d's. im on day 28 of no heroin and i know if i were to shoot even a little bit i'd be starting all over. Forget about opiates for a year or two, they'll still be there if you want them after that.

It varies a lot... you'd probably feel some degree of unpleasantness and that could be anywhere from mild discomfort to close to full blown withdrawal.

This is completely irrelevant in my eyes however because if you've been using a lot regularly, it will NOT be a one time thing. You aren't risking starting withdrawals over again, you're risking going back to full-blown use.

This has been discussed quite a bit so please try using the directory and search engine to get more views and feel free to private message me if you have any questions. Welcome to BL!

For more information specifically on suboxone, withdrawal and other topics, the directory has some of the most useful information we have around here all arranged by topic.
