Oxycontin OP80 question

so i got one op80 last night and i am waiting until later today to take it, my question is, is it ok to cut it in half or just break in half with my teeth and take that way? also will cutting it in half or quarters affect how it is released in any way?
 
Cutting it in half or quarters will possibly very slightly speed up absorption as there is a larger surface area:volume ratio, but the effect will be tiny due to the new "abuse-proof" formulation. Realistically it will just turn it into an OP 40 or an OP 20.

Is this what you are aiming for, or are you trying to defeat the time release? If it is the latter, take a look at this thread: OP Oxycontin Extraction Techniques Megathread

If it is the former, be aware that you aren't really supposed to break up extended release pills like that - and although the effect will be small, there may be some effect.
 
this is weird i am nodding now which definitely never happens to me unless i take like 120mg of roxi instant all at once... I popped the OP80 three hours ago, and one hour after that i popped two 350mg somas and 4mg xanax. keep in mind that i am prescribed to 30mg roxis, the xanax (which i have a high tolerance to) and the somas and i usually always mix them but never nod like i am right now which i dont know should i not worry about it or is this normal? if its normal, does anyone know how llong this nod will last because the nod is taking away from the euphoric feeling also i tested my resting heart rate and i am at 61 beats per minute, usually when i am on the roxi/xan/soma mixture in the morning like i would be today if it wasnt for the OP80, my resting rate would me mid 70's/low 80's and now im at 61..and it definitely feels like i want to sleep but i am scared i heard stories about doin that.. also i'mm prescribed to 20mg adderalls, would it be ok to take 1 or 2 of them with the combo i'm on now?
 
So you have taken the same combination you usually take, same amounts of Soma and Xanax, except an OP 80mg rather than.. how many roxicodones?

This is unusual seeing as the OP80 is ER and the Roxicodones are IR.. is there anything else you have done differently?

60bpm - 100bpm is a normal range for heart rate - I appreciate it is slower than normal for you, but not worryingly so in itself. How does your breathing feel? Do you feel faint or dizzy?

If you have talen too much (ie overdose) then taking stims will just mask it.. It is impossible for us to tell you 100% if you are okay or not over the internet - if you are at all worried, please get some medical attention immediately! At the very least I feel you should definitely have someone with you... and I would advise lying down and making sure you drink plenty of fluids (not alcohol obv!)

my usual dose is the same as i took today except instead of the op80 i would have taken 3 IR 30mg roxis but am fine now feel great breathing is normal is was just the nodding that really i never got
 
^Not at all. Different drugs.

Personally, I get alot more out of the pill breaking it into 1/4's or 1/8's and taking them throughout the day. Instead of all at once or just 1/2.
 
Correct, they are different chemicals. I'm suggesting the difference in the chemicals, and potential tolerances to specific metabolites could have created this exacerbated reaction to a typically standard dose.
 
Where did the mention of oxymorphone come from? OP80s is the new formulation of Oxycontin, not Opaner :)

^ no worries at all!! We don't get 'em over here either and it confused the hell out of me at first :D
 
I've noticed this as well, I would swallow half the OP 80. It wouldn't do anything but I could take like 5mg of Hydrocodone or something hours later and get really high/ nod out when normally 5mg of Hydrocodone wouldn't even bring me outta withdrawals at all and 40mg's of Oxy IR would give me a slight high but no nod
 
i usually take 1-2 roxi's at a time, and one OP 80 didn't give me any euphoria at all. i also took 1mg klonopin and 100mg tramadol that day as well. i was nodding off most of the day but was still a waste a money IMO. i stick to roxicodone, but they are expensive as anything :\
