Oxycontin Op + Lyrica + Xanax

Hi, i am new here & have looked over all the other forums but can not find the answer I am looking for. So here goes... I took only about 50mg of the new oxycontins about 4 or 5 hours ago, along with 2 lyricas. Now I am wanting to take my xanax bar but not sure if I should or not. Has it been long enough since i took the other pills to be able to take it safely and not worry about anything, like stopping breathing or dieing??? 8( ...If I have posted in the wrong place or have did this wrong, Please forgive me. I have been a long time lurker here, but it is my very 1st time actually contributing or participating in any way.

you havent mentioned dosages so .....
Especially If you are not tolerant to opiates it is dangerous to mix benzos such as xanax.
50mg is pretty high for an opiate naive individual.

As said ^^^ You've not mentioned the dosage of the Lyrica or Xanax.

Neither have you told us how tolerant you are to opiates & benzos, what your past history of drug use is like etc... 50mg of OxyContin is reasonably high for somebody who's new to it?

*probably* yes it'll be fine. Though I'm in no position to call that shot without knowing anything further, and even if I did, I couldn't guarantee it.

Sorry guys. I have been taking opiates off and on for 5 years. and 50mg of oc is just to get me through the day I sometimes will add 30 mg or more of oxycodones to get a decent warm fuzzy feeling. Not exactly sure of the milligrams for the xanax, just know that it is the yellow bars. and as for the lyricas i'm pretty sure they are 75mg. I have been trying to taper myself off of the pain pills and that is why I am trying taking other things to help me with that. I use to be on xanax years ago, but just was never my thing. So I decided to try and take it in the evenings to help me sleep at night, but do not want to take if it will hurt me after taking the oc's and lyricas. I never did take any of the xanax last night cause I was just too leary about it & I never got a reply from you guys in time. So I had a pretty hard time sleeping last night or staying asleep. I would like to try it tonight if I find out it should be ok.

You've been on them all for awhile so you'll probably be just fine. The yellow bars are the 2mg xannies(highest mg pill they make). If you've been on these meds that long and their prescribed to u then you'll probably be just fine. No one can say 100% because were not u. Only You know how u feel. That's just my honest opinion and I'm not a dr so do with it as u see fit...

Sorry ya'll ... I must have written it wrong before. I have been on oc's, oxycodones, vicodins etc. for 5 yrs., but the xanax i have not taken in a few yrs! I am just now thinking about taking them to help me ween myself off of the pain pills. i know I am just substituting one drug for another, but xanax's arent my thing. So I have a less chance of getting hooked on them. I just really want to use the xanax's to help me sleep at night, but don't wanna take it if it will not mix good with the oc's. I took the oc's about 8 hours ago and am really needing to take something now as I feel my body coming down, but don't want to take no more pain pills. So i'm thinking of taking the xanax now to help me sleep through the night. At least that is my hope anyway.

Thank you Cliffy. I had a feeling it would be, but wasn't sure. Now if it had only been 4 or 5 hrs since i had taken the oc's, would it still be ok? I would like to know for future reference. ...Or what about taking together?? Would that be a no no??

It all depends on the person. We know our bodies better than everyone.
I don't have any problems, but that's not to say if u did the same you wouldn't drop dead, u know what I mean? You should know by how react to the meds combined.

Benzos don't really get me "high", it might be different for u.
You might fall out or be just fine it's impossible to know.

I've never been able to get high off of benzo's either cliffy. They just tend to make me feel more relaxed, but not a sleepy relaxed, more like a less stressed relax. & I have also always seemed to have a high tolerance to drugs & alcohol. I was always the smallest chick in a group but was also the only one who could out drink everybody else.. even the guys!! & I mean I could put away a fifth by myself and still walk n talk n act as if I hadn't drank hardly anything!
