Oxycontin dosage

I came across 38 Oxycontin 5mg,i usually take 30-40mg of IR Oxycodone in the evening,what would be the best way to take the Oxycontin to get the same effect i have with the IR for a longer period?

take 60 mg of oxycontin and no more than 80 to start with then in about an hour you can play around with upping your dose

I just literally had 2x10mg about an hour ago. For someone with no tolerence I seemed to feel it. I felt a little at the start, ie: kinda pale and getting cold sweats, felt like I was gonna vomit.

I feel...hmm i dunno...buzzy & warmish? Its hard to describe, I dunno.

It's important to start off slow.. you can always increase your dose if you feel you can handle it, but you can't go the other way around. From the sound of it..that 20mg's was enough...

Well i ended up taking 30mg of Oxycontin at about 7 am,since i'm used to taking my Oxycodone IR at around 7 at night,after about an hour i started feeling good,and figured i would for most of the day,but that feeling lasted only about two hours,after that i barely felt anything,i have Crohn's desieses and experiencing a flare up at the moment,i go to the toilet,7-8 times a day,so that might explain something.

I was prescribed oxycontin for a year or so a while back. I found that regardless of how much I would take, the "action"/feeling of the dose would invariably wear off in 2-4hrs (even on doses exceeding 300mg). I talked to my doc at the time and he wasn't surprised. He affirmed my suspicion that the 12hr advertisement is not true and 6hrs is usually the maximum amount of time before more is needed.
