Oxycontin Changes with OP

Question: For pain ssues, I am taking Oxycontin 20 and Percocet 10/325 (which I know is oxy + tylenol). The question is that if I take a 20 of Oxy OP (the long acting I am told) is does not do anything noticeable, but does help lower the pain experienced a bit.

If i take 1 1/2 Percocet (total of 15 oxy) I definately notice its arrival, and I notice
more of a pain decrease. That 15 is better then 20 makes no sense to me.

My pharmacist also gave me the older type of the oxy, 20 OC which he says is the old time "in demand on the street" type and i notice that in a head-to-head match up with the OP oxy, the OC definately is more potent. What is up with this?

Why would 15 of Percocet be better then 20 of Oxy OP? Why does Oxy OC seem
more potent then Oxy 0P?

I have various posts about the OP vs the OC, but the Oxy 20 versus the Perco 15 makes no sense. Certainly tylenol can be the answer, can it?

oc's are extended release, percs are instant release. the oxy's take more time to breakdown because they have a time release coating on them as percocets dont.
 
Interesting. So 15 of oxycontin "immediate" has more punch the 20 of the time release. Think I like the Percos better. Maybe by the end of the day it works itself out, but the quick release seems to be superior in its performance, and with a lower
dosage. Why does that not make sense to me? Seems like I would be better off taking Percocets then straight oxycontin OP's. A lot of posts here seem to think that the new OP's are inferior. any news on that. all in all, confusing,

The percocet releases far more of the drug instantly so its not actually acutely weaker than 20... the 20 delivers a smaller amount over a longer time.

the OP and old formula contain the same amount of oxycodone, the latter just has abuse proof measures and might release it differently.

The old formula and new have been discussed extensively in other threads so search around, I don't see a need for this thread since there are already better areas to discuss these topics and I think your questions have been answered, at least for the most part.
