Oxycontin and Xanax

Is it safe to take these at the same time or a hour apart? I have stayed away from mixing the two because of some of the interactions I have heard about, has anyone done this, and does this help increase the effects of the Oxy. Thanks in advance.
 
Combining benzodiazepines like Xanax, and opiates like oxycodone is potentially very dangerous. Even if they were taken an hour a part from each other, it could still be potentially dangerous as they both are still in full effect. Benzos add to the sedation, and relaxation of the experience so it would increase the level of sedation. If you do this combo, I would stick with a very low dose of Xanax, and a lower than normal dose of oxycodone. Where is your tolerance when it comes to these two drugs?
 
^^This. Please be careful when combining benzos and opiates, and don't add another depressant (alcohol being a good example) to the mix. It's best to reduce your dose of both the opiate and the benzo when mixing the two, but since you've already taken the Oxy, just reduce the dose of your Xanax and don't redose until you're sure you're good. Always best to err on the side of caution.

The problem with Xanax and opiates is Xanax is one of the shorter acting benzos so it hits you all at once. Well, this is a problem from an overdose point of view, but it's a good thing from a recreational point of view. Sorry for the ramblings, I'm speedy right now.

Just reduce the benzo dose and don't take any other depressants for the duration and you'll be fine. :)
 
Well I currently only take about 40mg of Oxy per day. I just started taking them about 3 weeks ago. Xanax I have used before but not a everyday thing. I have the 1mg footballs, I would probally take a 40mg Oxycontin and break the 1mg xanax in half, does that sound like a reasonable dose and something I would not be in serious trouble from?

I wish I could get by the day with just that 40mg/day of Oxycodone. I need at least 160-200mg/day to GET by the day, not to get high, just to get by.

EDIT: Not dicksizing. I just miss those days when I used to get ripped off a 40mg OxyContin.
 
I tried DXM (Nyquil) I had left over with the 40mg tonight and I might have noticed it a bit more I was kind of nodding a bit at the end and right now but I think that's because I only got 5 hours of sleep last night too.

Would the Xanax be a different feeling than taking the oxy with the nyquil, I am looking for the warm kind of out if it feeling where you are content. Sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't, I really don't want to up my dose yet from 40mg at this time so I am looking for some things to go with to keep me at this dose for now I know soon I will be up to 60mg then 80mg and you all know.

Any advise other than the DXM and GFJ with Oxy? I might try the Xanax tomorrow with it and see how it feels. I just hope I don't get up to as many mg and you guys who posted earlier need to take. Thanks for your responces.

Edit: Before taking Oxy 3 weeks ago I was taking Straight codeine for about 3-6 months straight about 120mg-180mg per day. I would take a Xanax only after 4 hours have gone by if I needed to get to bed and could not sleep and I did not have any issues from tha.

I know Oxy is stronger but would that kind of mean I tried it before and nothing happened? Only thing I would be taking the Xanax within a hour and not 4 hours after, there might be a difference there??

Me and my friends got into xanax our freshman year of high school. a group of 4 of us, we were best friends. we ended up getting into perks, and then oc's with xanax. today all three of them are dead. i wonder why sometime's i am alive.

be careful with this combo.
 
The doses your speaking of will be fine, youll feel nice but not kill yourself. I don't recommend this but about a year ago, I was on 60mg a day of ox and about 6mg of xan plus I drank like a fish 4-8 tall boys, all of this at the same time, my ol lady had to induce my breathing 3 times during this peroid of time over a month, cause i would just stop breathing in my sleep.I never actually stopped and though what if I didn't wake up, but its all good Im very good about my drug use now a days and never try to push the limit. I just thank what every unseen power kept me from being dead.
