I had just gotten to a point where I was able to use drugs again (i was in a drug counseling class)
I started using oxycontin again, a couple times a week. I drank periodically, once or twice a month.
This day was going to be a good one, I had a little cash to spend and some friends to hang out with. One of my friends that I use with the most and I went in on a 40mg oxycontin pill. We crushed and snorted it. 20mg should have been enough to get me high, my tolerance was still low because I had just started using again a few weeks prior and was only taking 15mg doses.
The person I split the pill with went to work, and I went into the house where the 'party' was going to be at.
I had gotten that initial "woooo! ahhhhh" feeling from snorting the pill, but it went away quickly and I didn't feel high at all. A couple hours went by hanging out in the house and I still didn't feel anything, I had completely forgotten that I even took the pill.
The alcohol arrived, one shot, two shot, a cup, and then another shot. (rum)
That was it, the end of my night was there, I don't remember even taking that last shot.
~most of the following is what I was told by the people around me, most of which were sober or slightly buzzed~
I had puked outside, and then went into the house and passed out on a bed.
Shortly after I woke up and seemed sober to the people around me. I said I didn't feel good, fell over and started having seizures.
My friends obviously became worried, and did what they could to get me conscious and up. I began vomiting black liquids (blood) and was having a very difficult time staying conscious.
I remember having this fear that I was going to die, something that was very likely to happen in this situation. All the sources online said to take some one like that to a hospital, the people at the overdose hot lines said to take some one to the hospital.
Several times I just gave up. Accepted that I was going to die, stopped breathing, and let my body go.
My friends told me that at one point for near a minute they couldn't feel my heartbeat, i wasn't breathing, and was not moving. They picked me up to take me out to a car and I woke up.
The rest of the night was filled with keeping me awake until I was sober.
I'm missing a lot of detail in this, but hopefully you can get a good message from it.
1) be CAREFUL what drugs you mix! I know what I did was a very stupid mix, but it is a good example for anyone thinking about mixing stuff. Do your homework prior to mixing two substances.
2) always have good friends around you when doing anything potentially dangerous.
3) I left this out, but there were several times where they attempted to take me to the hospital. I resisted and resisted, and I think they made a mistake here and so did I. Even if you're in a really f'd up state like I was, let them take you there. Getting your stomach pumped and possibly getting into some trouble is better than dying. The people you're with could get in trouble and you would also be making your friends watch your death.
I should add, I don't think I got my full half of the pill, the lines I did were few and small. Which would explain why I didn't feel it.
Sorry for the lack of details, I was blacked out or passed out most of time.
I've now shared two bad experiences with you guys. Time for a break and maybe in a few days I'll post one or two of the good ones. xD
also I put experienced, i'm not sure if that's right though, this was my first time mixing the two substances.
