I had just gotten to a point where I was able to use drugs again (i was in a drug counseling class)
I started using oxycontin again, a couple times a week. I drank periodically, once or twice a month.
This day was going to be a good one, I had a little cash to spend and some friends to hang out with. One of my friends that I use with the most and I went in on a 40mg oxycontin pill. We crushed and snorted it. 20mg should have been enough to get me high, my tolerance was still low because I had just started using again a few weeks prior and was only taking 15mg doses.
The person I split the pill with went to work, and I went into the house where the 'party' was going to be at.
I had gotten that initial "woooo! ahhhhh" feeling from snorting the pill, but it went away quickly and I didn't feel high at all. A couple hours went by hanging out in the house and I still didn't feel anything, I had completely forgotten that I even took the pill.
The alcohol arrived, one shot, two shot, a cup, and then another shot. (rum)
That was it, the end of my night was there, I don't remember even taking that last shot.
~most of the following is what I was told by the people around me, most of which were sober or slightly buzzed~
I had puked outside, and then went into the house and passed out on a bed.
Shortly after I woke up and seemed sober to the people around me. I said I didn't feel good, fell over and started having seizures.
My friends obviously became worried, and did what they could to get me conscious and up. I began vomiting black liquids (blood) and was having a very difficult time staying conscious.
I remember having this fear that I was going to die, something that was very likely to happen in this situation. All the sources online said to take some one like that to a hospital, the people at the overdose hot lines said to take some one to the hospital.
Several times I just gave up. Accepted that I was going to die, stopped breathing, and let my body go.
My friends told me that at one point for near a minute they couldn't feel my heartbeat, i wasn't breathing, and was not moving. They picked me up to take me out to a car and I woke up.
The rest of the night was filled with keeping me awake until I was sober.

I'm missing a lot of detail in this, but hopefully you can get a good message from it.
1) be CAREFUL what drugs you mix! I know what I did was a very stupid mix, but it is a good example for anyone thinking about mixing stuff. Do your homework prior to mixing two substances.
2) always have good friends around you when doing anything potentially dangerous.

3) I left this out, but there were several times where they attempted to take me to the hospital. I resisted and resisted, and I think they made a mistake here and so did I. Even if you're in a really f'd up state like I was, let them take you there. Getting your stomach pumped and possibly getting into some trouble is better than dying. The people you're with could get in trouble and you would also be making your friends watch your death.

I should add, I don't think I got my full half of the pill, the lines I did were few and small. Which would explain why I didn't feel it.

Sorry for the lack of details, I was blacked out or passed out most of time.

I've now shared two bad experiences with you guys. Time for a break and maybe in a few days I'll post one or two of the good ones. xD

also I put experienced, i'm not sure if that's right though, this was my first time mixing the two substances.

Wow, that's scary! I drink alcohol with oc every once in awhile. I knew it was somewhat dangerous but I thought you needed to drink a lot of alcohol and take a lot more than 20mg of oc for it to be a real problem. I'm definately going to be a lot more careful mixing those two substances in the future.

I'm glad you're okay!

Yea, definitely be careful if you continue doing it.
The lady at the overdose place said that a lethal amount was 3 beers with the amount I had taken.
So I had probably doubled that.
I could see where maybe taking a pill and chugging down a beer would be a lot of fun.
For me this is one of those things where the line is too thin for me to wanna walk on.
Just be careful, and have fun. <3

It's no matter that you "resisted". They sound like cunts and should have dragged you to a hospital.

I think that you have other issue's going on you should get your liver checked, oxy's with the mixture of alcohol is bad on your liver and if you have done this alot you could have a problem, i have been doing opiates for 10 yrs. and never had that happen but i can tell that i have damaged my liver, it takes me alot longer to recoupe then it use too.

It's good to take breaks from heavy drug use limit youself and know your limit's and be safe and always remember that when you do opiates small amount or large amount your doing damage to your body and gambling wiyh your life.

i haved od many times in my short 10 year addiction, almost died 90 percent of those times, opiates are unforgiving.

be safe PeAcE

I don't have any medical problems (that i know of)

I thought about going to a doctor but I felt fine the next morning other than extremely drained. I haven't gotten sick or had any problems at all since this incident. Kind of just been waiting to see if something odd comes up.

I'm sure this will add to why I'll probably not live very long, but that's life.

The throwing up black stuff would not have been blood, it would have been red if it was blood, believe me, my mum works in the medical field and ive often thought I was throwing up blood when in fact it was just what the bourbon or rum in your case turns to in the stomach. Blood stays red for quite a while.

Im glad you were fine though as it doesnt sound like you were too healthy at that point in time. The first time I ever injected oxycontin I went out drinking at my cousins birthday after a 30mg shot and threw up ALOT but thankfully that was afterwards and people just thought it was because I was getting used to my higher dose of SSRI's which sometimes made me sick. Drinking and opiates can be fun but its usually just a waste of opiates.

Maybe this is why I feel sooo drained today.
Last night I had 6 drinks, 40 mg (over the course of like 5 hours) of OC, and a half of a mushroom chocolate. I felt pretty good, but also irritable at times, and I ended up puking on the street (not so good in NYC where there's always someone around to see you).
I'm working from home today and I am so lethargic. I can't get rid of my headache. I'm just surprised though that you got that shaken up from your substances and I didn't really get that bad. I only weigh 125 lbs...but I'm not going to be mixing substances again any time soon. Your post was a wake up call. Thanks.
