'Aight, way back in like 1994-95 (when OxyContin was still going through open-label testing and no one knew about it but chronic pain paitients) there WAS a 60mg tab - it was a reddish color, same size as the 10mg, 20mg, and 40mg tabs - it said (obviously) "OC" on one side and "60" on the other - well, after their clinical studies were all done, they discovered that the proper means for increasing the dose was to go from 40mg OC q12h with 10mg OxyIR prn to 40mg OC q12h with 20mg OxyIR prn, THEN if pain still persisted, jump to 80mg OC q12h ... if this was to excessive then the 10mg and 20mg tabs could be prescribed along with a higer dose pill - they kept it simple, each successive dose was double the previous dose ...
Now, the 160mg tabs had a short and tragic life.. they were introduced in the late 1990's because so many patients/addicts were taking two of the 80mg tabs q12h - so they came out with the 160mg tab, which was the most incredible blue color ... well, then the kiddies discovered OC and you couldn't turn on the TV without a story about "OxyContin Abuse" .. in response, Purdue-Pharma ganked the 160mg tabs from production (this was about 2nd quarter 2001) .. good luck finding a pharmacy that still has them... fucking knee jerk reaction anyway - the 20mg tabs are the most widely prescribed, the 160mg tabs made up less then 1% of all OxyContin prescribed...
