I am prescribed oxycodone 5/325 X3 per day and xanax 1mg X 2per day. And i always follow this. In my past i've abused hydrocodone, taking upwards of 80+ mg per day (without rx) then i quit taking like that because i actually needed them for a condition of chronic pain. Well anyway that's a little background. They had me on lortab 10mg 4 times per day until 2 weeks ago they switched me to the oxycodone. I have been taken them exactly as prescribed. I was in much more pain today, so i took one extra. So from 9 am spread throughout the day until 9 pm i took 20 mg of oxycodone, and my usual 2 xanax's. Being somewhat opiate tolerarant this should be okay correct? What i did was take my 9 am dose, then at 12 i took one, then at 5, then one at 9pm. I just seem alot sleepier and loopy then when i normally take them. i have health anxiety so i guess i needed assurance that the extra percocet thrown in there should not hurt me. As i said, im semi opiate tolerant. Thanks in advance. ~hippy

Being somewhat opiate tolerant and looking at your past history that dosage sounds pretty normal.

I wouldn't be worried about that extra Percocet.

Yeah the percocet isn't going to effect you really and I wouldn't worry about it like neighborhood said. Trust me you will be fine....when I first started taking pills I didn't even care about how much I was doing or measuring it out (was dumb ect. Didn't even have a tolerance). In the end I was okay but will never do shit like that again.

Yes they did switch me from 40 mg of hydrocodone per day to 15 mg of oxycodone per day. I don't know how they figure it out. The did try morphine but that didn't work at all.

^Different opiates work for different people. If you were using morphine via the oral route that may have explained why it wasn't effective (morphine isn't very effective orally). However oxycodone is very effective orally.

If your pain isn't being treated enough, best to speak to your doctor.

You should ask your doctor for roxicodone, its oxycodone without the Tylenol. You did mention taking 80mgs of hydrocodone at some points, and its not the hydro/oxycodone that's lethal at those doses, its the Tylenol that can destroy your liver. Roxi s, come in 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30mg doses, and you can choose to add the Tylenol, or Advil if you like. Depending on how long you've been on these meds, its something I would give a try. There is no reason, that vicodin needs to have 7.5 hydrocodone and 750mgs of Tylenol, this is why the FDA is removing all doses higher than 325 of Tylenol out of the pharmacies

^Indeed. I second (or third?) the notion that speaking with your doctor is the best bet. The FDA is doing the right thing by capping the APAP per dosage unit at 325mg. Part of the reason hydrocodone combination products exist is so they can be C-III (which allows for more liberal refill/phone in script rules). All oxycodone products are C-II for whatever reason.

Short story is, speak to your doctor, they should know that a large amount of APAP is doing a lot more harm than good.

question i hope this is the right place to ask, i just quite suboxone a month ago and am almost through all the withdrawl symptoms but last night in a moment of weakness i did about 30 mgs of roxycontin anyone know if this is gonna cause me to be sick again?
