Opioids Oxycodone - Watson 10/325

All cards on the table here. I was given 4 10/325 Oxycodone *snip - no SWIM*. They advised me that I should crush two up into a fine powder, empty the powder into a small bit if tissue, pop it and swallow with water/soda/whateer.

I have been on 10/325 Hydrocodone for the last 2 weeks (one every 6 hours) to help maintain pain in my mouth where I chipped a back molar grinding my teeth in my sleep. I have an appointment to see my dentist Tueday (2 days from now), but the pain is so horrible I can hardly keep my mouth closed completely and keep drooling out of one corner of my mouth (Very Sexy, huh?)

My questions is... what is the best way to take these tablets. I am not 100% certain that they are Time Release or not, but I would really like to get the bang out of my buck (so to speak) and not only let the medication eliminate the pain but also allow it to place me in fluffy fuzzy land and knock me the hell out since I've been up 78 hours now with this pain.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, so long as they are not rude and disrespectful.

94 posts yet you use SWIM. No SWIM here, it's nonsense.

Orally is the best way to go. I don't really see much point in crushing them up besides them kicking in slightly faster. I doubt they are time release since they are just 10/325 Percocet. Not even sure if they exist honestly.

Dosage wise, if 10mg of hydrocone every 6 hours takes your pain away, I saw take half of one Percocet, so 5mg of Oxycodone, and you'll be good. If you want to get a nice high, then try 10-20mg, and note that 20mg is the high end if you have very little opiate tolerance. You'll definitely get high with as little as 10mg.
 
It sounds like you have Norcos, but I could be wrong, usually am. Have never heard of percs coming in 10/325. Are they yellow ovals? If so you got the best vicodin you can get. You want them to hit you fast? Crush them up, dump powder in water, swallow. Don't take more than 1 at a time.
 
thing is you're not going to get any higher by crushing them up. it just makes it hit you faster. so if you want instant pain relief, i'd crush them up. if you're looking for a longer lasting buzz or longer lasting pain relief, just take them orally regularly. And like others have said, take a half or one at first, from what you say i think one'll give you a decent buzz that's not overwhelming/vomit inducing for someone with low tolerance (hopefully!). don't know if you smoke weed but weed kicks in oxy times 10 IMO/IME.
 
Thanks for taking the time to point out that the use of *swim* is now pointless, you did not, I suppose, notice that I have not posted or used this forum since April 2005. that's a fairly long time. I am not trying to be rude, just simply pointing out the obvious.

Another point I would like to make is the fact that these are:

Drug: Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride
Strength: 325 mg / 10 mg
Imprint: WATSON 932
Color: White
Shape: Round

Again, I am not trying to come across as being rude just as educated on this topic as possible, considering what it involves.

thanks for your feedback. i am not a weed smoker, so that's out of the questions (but i don't judge others who are either). i am just in a serious amount of pain that i am in tears and if i could stand to wait 4-6 hours in the ER for a pain shot then I would, but, I already left an urgent message with my dentist to contact me first thing Monday morning to help get me in as soon as possible and get some control over this pain. Tylenol, Advil, NOTHING WORKS, except the Hydrocodone I had left over from surgery in July and there were only 8 of those. I, at least, made them last 3 days.

You could get away with just half of one of these, but they are unscored. This means they are not meant to be broken in half. Consequently, the active ingredients are not necessarily evenly distributed. Probably close enough any way. I'd go with half, and take it normally
