Hi,

I am on oxycodone and MST and pethidine..

Now I am doing my best to read these posts but everyone is talking about percocet/vicadin etc etc and I'm sure they must be the same just different brand names etc but being from the UK I am finding it very difficult to keep up and understand what is going on with everyone.

I have been on lots of strong opiates - legitamately for pain relief for 5 years now and know ALOT so would be able to help with lots of questions (like methodone conversion to oxys someone asked today and the question was answered completely wrong.. and i know a lot) but can someone just give me a run down of the american names in relation to those in the UK please.. then I can get my useful boots on and start answering some questions!

Thanks

Oxycodone - percocet, roxicodone, Oxycontin

Hydrocodone - Vicodin, Hydrococet, Symtan, Anexsia, Biocodone, Damason-P, Dicodid, Hycodan (or generically Hydromet), Hycomine, Hycet, Lorcet, Lortab, Norco, Novahistex, Hydrovo, Duodin, Kolikodol, Orthoxycol, Panacet, Zydone, Mercodinone, Synkonin, Norgan, Xodol and Hydrokon.

Hydromorphone - dilaudid

Oxymorphone - opana

Methadone - Symoron, Dolophine, Amidone, Methadose, Physeptone, Heptadon

All names from my memory and a five minute wikipedia search.

The only real difference between the US and UK is the random difference between the approved name for Demerol. Internationally it is known as "pethidine" but in the United States it is known as "meperidine".

Just FYI. Wikipedia calls it pethidine.
