Oxycodone tolerance

Long story short: 2 nights ago I did 20mg of oxycodone, it was great. Last night I did double(40mg) and experienced basically nothing but a slight nod and extreme itchiness. Did my tolerance build that fast? I have a huge tolerance to codeine, I haven't done it in ages my last dose was 1000mg, and it did nothing, I don't even bother with the stuff anymore, because my tolerance doesn't go away. Obviously there is a cross tolerance but why wouldn't i feel like I did the first night when doubling the dose? I still have 40mg left. Could I try a different method of ingestion? (I did oral)

Yes tolerance builds extremely fast to opiates when taken for 2 days (or more) in a row. I'd suggest a 3 day break to get the most out of what you have left. You could try snorting, some people find it preferable because of the quicker come-up, but I prefer the longer lasting effect from just eating them as the oral Bio-availability of oxycodone is very high.
