Oxycodone tolerance

Despite being at the young age of 19, life has cursed me with kidney stones.

I was prescribed generic oxycodone (5 mg oxy, 325 mg acetaminophen) for the pain, and was wondering how long i could take this before the single dose of one pill became useless due to tolerances.

I took one tab last night, and another this morning, and I'm worrying that if I hit up the oxy too often, it will stop doing what it's supposed to do.

I have never used oxycodone or other opiates in my life up until now, and I'm 135 pounds (approx. 60 kg).

If you use daily, like jay said, around a week or so you will see tolerance starting to form. As soon as you start double dosing or increasing your dose, your tolerance will increase that much as well.

To avoid any complications, just use as needed and as sparingly as possible. Is this a one time, no refill script, or will the script be a monthly occurrence?

He'll get it as long as he has stones.
 
I'd say your best bet is to do just what the bottle probably says, use as needed.
If they gave you enough to take 1 every day, then just take one at the same time every day, unless you don't need it. If you have kidney stoned then it sounds like you will need these to last you the month. How many do you have?
Are you looking to use these recreationally at all or are they just for pain?

They only gave me 15, and I've got 13 left. No refills. Ideally, this would be the last time I need one, but as Jay said, if I keep getting kidney stones... I'll probably get more. Just not constantly.

I suppose it would have been neat to try them out on a recreational level, but between the 325 mg of tylenol in them, and the fact that I only have 13 left, I don't think it's worth it. I can always buy roxies off my friend if I want to.

On a completely unrelated note, I can see how people get addicted to these things. Both times I took them, as soon as I hit the come down, all I could think about was wanting to take another oxy.

I advise you to tread lightly...

You are in a way craving for your meds. This is no good. As soon as you run out, you might have the urge to blow up your friends phone.
 
Naw. I'm well aware of the consequences and such, and I'm pretty confident in my self-control. But that's what they all say, isn't it? I appreciate your concern. =]
