Opioids Oxycodone tolerance after 1 day?!

So Wednesday night, I took 20mg of Oxycontin (10mg nasal+10mg oral) and it was nice. Not overwhelming but satisfying, felt all warm and fuzzy. Even had a nod (sort of)... Prior to that, I had no opiate tolerance whatsoever. I took oxy once, more than a year before, that's all...

The next night I decided to take about the same dose (10mg nasal + 15mg oral) and barely felt anything!
I tried to potentiate it with 1ml Clonazepam and it was barely better...

That's crazy. I knew tolerance was a problem with opiate but I certainly didn't expect it to manifest this fast, the next day after what was practically my first experience with it...
(both times were on an empty stomach)

Is that normal?

Yeah it is. When I first started doing heroin, I would use usually every other day or so, until it got to be every day.
At the time I was sniffing originally one bag to get high, if I waited two days, one bag would still get me equally high. If i used one bag just the next day, I would get a mild buzz that was also a lot shorter in duration. That's what sucks about short acting opiates, tolerance builds like a bitch

I really thought this was the kind of tolerance that takes a few days of daily use to build up. A bit like weed...

Coming from an ex addict, thank god im clean and sober now, but dude oxy is awesome at start but after a while you loose everything. i started using norcos 10 mg. about 3 months later my tolerance was so high it took me 150 mg of roxi to get a nod. stay away from that shit the best you can.

What I fund strange was that the only opioid that I used that didn't build up an incredibly fast tolerance was iv oxymorphone. I went from shooting 2.5 mg in a shot, to 10mg in a shot within like three days, but from there on end. I seemed to get a consistent rush and high off of ten mg.

You will reach a level where you will sit at for a while before reaching tolerance. Each person's metabolism acts on the effects as does nearly everything else with oxy; eating, drinking, 'potentiaters', exercise. I'm still learning, but the increase to your optimal level is quick, nearly negligible. I would just eat them and see where you are dosage wise. It's so expensive to get high on that stuff. If you have access to other opiates I would take them and use oxy sporadically as its tolerance increases so fast.

Z- I found nearly everything else except hydro, oxy, and dillys to level off fairly quickly and was able to get high on a regular basis at the same or nearly the same dosage for a while (if kept under check). Anyone else?

I started off on hydrocodone and made it a long time before my tolerance really came into play. I made it about a year and a half taking 30mg of hydrocodone 3-4 days a week before that dose just stopped working. I had been getting a pretty steady high all that time, and then toward the end my tolerance kept going up until I switched to oxy.

40mg oxycodone only got me high for like a month, which was a really short amount of time considering how long my hydro tolerance was level. My oxy tolerance pretty much tripled in the following 2 months before I took a break. This was like 4-5 years ago but I'm pretty sure the time periods at each dose are accurate.

I agree that using consecutive days really increases your tolerance fast. I'm able to stay at the same dose if I use once a week, but if I use the following day I need almost twice as much. I know that the OP is not dependent on it so it doesn't apply to him now, but this is why I tell everybody that posts about how long they need to take a break before their tolerance goes down to never use more than 2x a week, and never on consecutive days. After a long break your tolerance will only be lower for the first couple of uses, unless you space it out to 1-2x a week, otherwise it will be back to what it was in no time.
