Oxycodone stopped working suddenly

Hello, this is my first posting here. I take 20 mg of oxycodone in the morning and 20 mgs before bed due to a pretty bad broken elbow, but all of a sudden my Oxys aren't working like they should, I don't get the eurphoic feeling, I tried to take 30mgs to see what that would do and I still got nothing, any help would be greatly appreciated
 
Yeah I understand tolerance and that's why I tried to take 30mgs which is large for me, and just the day before the 20mgs worked great and I got europhoic feeling and the energy I usually get. I can take half a norco and feel it, I haven't much of a tolerance, they just stopped working

Yeah I understand tolerance but I took my regular 20mgs
On Friday and felt eurphoric and energized, then on Saturday I woke up and took my dose and didn't really feel anything at all so that night I took 30 mgs which and still didn't feel anything and
Couldn't sleep and almost felt similar withdrawal
 
Tolerance on oxy went up real fast for me and I was up to 300 mgs. a day in 4-5 months, I ended up taking morphine with it and my pain was controlled. But because of the massive amount of oxy I was waking up in withdrawal every morning. I cut back on the roxi and the combination is fine now. Less is more in some situations.

I've taking them about 8 months now and I was perfect at 20mgs and I could take a Vicodin and feel good, but then just the other day I took my dose and didn't feel anything, does tolerance happen that fast? Just over night?

You may not have noticed the gradual adjustment.

It's completely normal.
 
I have been on pain killers many times in my life for various injuries...never have abused...take the recommended doses at recommended times. However, I am stuck at home with my parents right now going out of mind while healing from a broken limb. We went out or dinner earlier tonight. I had taken a 5 mg pain killer at 5p. Met my folks for dinner/started drinking cocktails at about 6:30p...had two strong tequila drinks...then got home and took two more 5mg oxycodone at 9p...decided to take a 4th at 10ish...
Now I'm freaking out...just so bored....not gonna take anymore, but am concerned about sleeping...should I not go to bed? I am 5'2", 108 llbs...

I would say that you're just fine, don't sweat it. That's a pretty small dose and a lot of people with no tolerance at all take 30-60 mgs of oxycodone to start. You're going to be alright killer
 
Nobody can tell you what to do in your situation. Do you feel as if your breathing is shallow? Are you actively having to inhale and exhale constantly? Are you finding it difficult to stay awake?

If so get to a hospital immediately.

However, I am not a trained medical professional and in no means can anyone here say what the best course of action is for you. Do you have anyone around to sit with you/monitor you?

Everyone's body make up is different. What is a minor dose for others could potentially be a fatal dose for you.

as everyone has said the obvious answer is tolerance, youll probably have to double your dose now. If you dont stop soon you may end up in a never-ending spiral of opiate dependence that soon comes after tolerance; youre obviously liking them too much judging by your words"euphoric feelings" although these drugs do work great for pain and a number of other ailments seeking the euphoric effects is counterproductive to the reason you were prescribed them and I am positive if your doctor knew you were seeking these effects you would be cut off, sometimes rather rude and painfully. It's only the truth coming from another person who's batled opiate/oid addiction/love for a few years, which started like many others' have because I was prescried, legally and for a true ailemtn, narcotic pain medicine that slowly spiraled out of control. All the best
