Opioids Oxycodone questions

Two questions that I have;
1) Why do I throw up every time I do oxycodone? I've done 10mg, 15mgs, and 20mgs and thrown up every time and I've never thrown up from hydrocodone.
2) why do I never feel the "full" effect of it? It's a bit of a cocktease compared to hydrocodone. I'll do 20mg hydro and feel AWESOME but 20mg oxy feels like 10mg of hydro to me.

Well...some people are prone to nausea with opiates. How many times have you done them, just those three? The dose may be a bit high, and especially if you aren't used to them, they can cause vomiting very easily. Even when using opiates on a regular basis for pain for a time, I still always got nauseous, and sometimes it was because I took a bit too much. Also, oxy is more potent than hydro mg for mg, so 20mg oxy is way more than 10mg hydro, maybe 30? I'm not sure, a conversion chart would be best. Oxy is more stimulating and less sedating than hydrocodone is, and all opiates feel different for different people ---- just as a benzo is not a benzo is not a benzo, an opiate is not an opiate is not an opiate...they are in the same class of drugs but all a bit different.
How are you taking the oxy, and how are you taking the hydro? Hydro should be eaten or plugged, since it always comes with APAP in it, and oxy is okay to snort if it's just oxy (not a perocet which has APAPP in it) but eating works too. ROA can make a different in dose and even nausea sometimes too (oral opiates make me far more nauseous than nasal or plugged ones.)

Opiates make people nauseous, I never thought more into this fact. Did you start taking hydrocodone and switch to oxy without much delay? These two have a cross tolerance, so it could be that your tolerance to opiates in general has increased, explaining why oxy feels weaker to you. Some people just prefer hydro even if they could get both in the purest forms, though.

I take 200-300 mg a day of oxy for pain..sometimes even with the tolerance i have it makes me throw up occasionally ...just one if the side effects of opiates..i read somewhere I read somewhere once about the about the science of why but not remember what I read.. Possibly another side affects of the opiates :)

i never really get nauseous from 30mgs oxy or opiates in general. out of all the opiates i have tried, i have only thrown up once; that was from suboxone

sorry for the late reply guys, I fell asleep and just remembered to check the thread.

I've taken hydro's 20+ times recreationally, but not within the past 3 or so months. No chance of a tolerance for either.
Anyway, I ALWAYS ate the oxy and hydros. For the 2nd question I asked, I was wondering why I never feel the oxy? I feel the hydros pretty strongly, but oxy never seems to do anything to me at all.

You're looking for the wrong effects... as others have stated oxycodone is a lot more "stimulating" than e.g. hydrocodone. It's also a lot more potent.

Take 5mg in a relaxed setting and see how you feel. Have a smoke. If you still "feel nothing" maybe you have some sort of genetic variation that makes oxycodone not work well for you. Who knows.

It may just be best to avoid oxycodone, I know I do... though I've never tried hydrocodone I do prefer the more "sedating" opioids over oxycodone (codeine/morphine), which makes me dizzy and sick feeling.

I was thinking that too. I noticed that with oxycodone I was much more talkative and not as much of a "knocked out" feeling, although that could of just been a coincidence. Any mod/admin is welcome to close this thread. Thanks a lot for the answers guys.

I have a friend that used Hydros' for 30 years (chronic condition) He said he much preferred them over Oxycodone
because the Hydro' was much more stimulating and less sedating...
