SWIM found some 5mg oxycodone pills that are probably ~10 years old, SWIM took 25mg orally, and had a normal experience, they kicked in after about 60-90 minutes, and the high lasted a couple hours. However, the second time SWIM took them he started to notice the effects after about 45 minutes and the high didn't last as long. The third time SWIM tried 25mg, he felt it after ~20 minutes and the high only lasted ~2 hours. Why would this be happening and how could he fix it?

hm what else is in the pill? how far apart were these time?

this sounds like a mental tolerance, ur mind is getting used to the feels and ur kinda blocking them.

do you take omega 3 oil? if not i feel like that helps, and of course stoping using for a bit

The pills are white and very small,SWIMI did some research before taking them, and he think athey only contain oxycodone. The first two times were 24 hours apart, and the third time was 2 days after the second time.

just double check again make sure their no Apap, im certain that its a mental tolerance, ur actual tolerance isnt raising that fast

I never understood how people felt oxy or vicodin just to start kicking in 1.5 hours later.......I always feel any pain med ive ever taken within 15 minutes........

The pills are 10 years old OP. If not "properly" stored, they begin to oxidize and lose potency. Chemical structures become unstable due to exposure and other various circumstances over long periods of time. Nothing lasts forever.

Being that the chemical composition of this oxycodone has degraded over the years, it makes complete and evident sense that they aren't working as well as fresh pharmaceutical pills. The chemical structure of oxycodone is engineered in such a way that it is meant to bind to your opiod receptors, sort of like a lock and key. The drug has an affinity for these receptors, and travels through the blood until it reaches them and locks in. Once the chemical becomes psychoactive you then begin to feel the effects of the drug (the onset) until it reaches peak blood plasma levels.

So it stands to reason that older drugs whose chemical composition has become destabilized will no longer fit that lock and key.

There are quite a few more technical details on what happens but I'm trying to say that expired pills will work they are just weaker and unstable, unpredictable. Still though, I have found ancient pills before stored with care and gotten some great highs.

Also, oxycodone has a short half life.

It also has to deal with if u ate or not!! It will hit u harder and faster if u take on an empty stomach then eat a fatty meal. So depending if the pills weren't too old and I would say I u ate and also stomach acids.... Sometimes I noticed if I hadent eaten for several hours and thought "ok my stomach is empty and I can take the pill" but then realized that I had acid reflux and should have taken Tumms then the pill.

So no food
take a tums if u suspect remain acid from previous meal
