I've used the search button and found a few topics discussing generic brands vs. name brand.
Now before someone complains, I have a little bit more of a specific question. The other threads I saw got closed, but they weren't posted in the Basic Drug Discussion.
I have read that generics are allowed to be a certain percentage off. Is this true?
I've also read that generics can have the main ingredient as name brand medicines, but the other secondary ingredients can be different, and this can actually lead to better absorption, etc.
I am tempted to spend a little more money and try the name brand this time when I get my Rx, but I was curious what others thought? Now I know the first response will be oxy is oxy is oxy, but is that really true? Has anyone tried the name brand?
thanks...
