Hello everyone, I'm new here but have been reading the forums for awhile. I actually have a few questions regarding oxycodone and opiates in general that I hope could be answered.

First of all, I have almost no experience with opiates but am extremely interested in their supposed effects. The only two times I have tried opiates were orally 17.5 mg hydrocodone w/ apap and orally 17.5 mg oxycodone w/o apap. I threw up on both occasions due to "motion sickness-like effects." At first I figured it was the apap from the hydros that made me sick but when I tried the oxys the same thing happened. The throwing up was not terrible like alcohol spins can be but what threw me off is that I noticed no recreational effects from either drug. The hydros only made me sick and the oxys made me really hot. I was sweating terribly from the oxys. It felt like I was in an oven even tho the cold air was on around me. I was literally sweating bullets so bad that I took a cold shower that helped a little.

Anyways here are my questions:
1. Is that sweating hot feeling normal on oxycodone or was I having a reaction? I know that my mom is allergic to oxys, does that have anything to do with it?

2. Am I taking enough for recreational effects to be present? I was looking for a warm loving nod or at least some good feelings.

3. I have 20 mg oxycodone left and I also have 25 mg promethazine tablets to potentials/combat nausea. I was wondering how much someone with no opiate tolerance would have to take to feel the effects. Especially if I combine the promethazine, is there a chance I could OD as well? The feeling of hot sweats was so intense already that it gave me anxiety about my body not being able to regulate temperature properly enough to live lol (I have anxiety problems as well).

Well that's pretty much it. Please help me if you guys can. (Also, sorry but I tried posting this in ODD but I couldn't add a prefix for some reason so I am posting here.) Much appreciated, thanks.

The first few times I did opioids, I felt a bit dizzy/hot/nauseous as well. You build a tolerance to these side effects over time, but 17.5 mg oxycodone is a rather strong first-time dose and your body, being unaccustomed to opioids, reacted adversely to it. I would try taking 25 mg hydroxyzine or one tablet of OTC antihistamine 45 minutes before 15 mg oxycodone and see how it goes. You won't OD. If you're not where you want to be after one hour, you can take the remaining 5 mg oxycodone. Just listen to your body. If you're not enjoying it, you probably aren't going to enjoy opioids in the future. If you feel anxious, hydroxyzine before opioids really helps take the edge off, but any generic antihistamine should have a positive effect.

17.5 mg should give an opoid naive person a good buzz, but I would say 30 mg would get you to your nod. If you aren't getting any recreational value from 17.5 mg though and you have no tolerence you might just be someone whose body just doesn't get the full euphoric/recreational effect from opoids, that's how I am personally. I have to take MASSIVE doses just to get some effect, and it only feels a little euphoric. I drank an entire 16 oz bottle of the 7.5 mg hydrocodone syrup, and I only got a half-ass buzz off it (DO NOT do that btw, very unsafe). Long story short, just give it a try again and smoke some weed with it. The 20 mg+ promethazine should do the trick. If that doesn't work you could try another opoid if you ever get your hands on one, but if that doesn't work either you probably just aren't an opoid person. Let us know how it goes with the oxy, be safe man.

In my experience if you dont instantly love it the first time you do it, like the other guy said you're probably not an opiate person.

You took 17.5 mg with zero tolerance...try lower doses, always.

Seeking euphoria/oblivion on the 1st date doesn't get you laid, it gets you a face slap.

Remember, it can take up to 30 mins for some pills to work, don't redose so quick.

A few things here to think about.

1) The feeling of euphoria, and the lack of side effects strong enough to counteract it, are by no means a universal response to opioids. Not even close to everyone enjoys recreational opioid doses; some people just don't like the high that much, don't enjoy the sedation, or otherwise don't find it worth it for all the itchiness and nausea.
2) Nausea is very common and pronounced in individuals taking opioids for the first few times. Sweating is also a very common side effect. Sweating and feeling nauseated indicates you may have had a sufficient dose, but either just don't enjoy them, or the euphoria was overwhelmed by side effects.
3) Nausea on opioids is greatly exacerbated by movement. Sit still, lie down. Smoke a bit of weed.

4) Sensitivity is very variable between people. Some people take 10mg and feel it; my first time was 40mg and it wasn't too much.

Take the promethazine before, and start out with 10-15mg, and dose the rest after 45-60 min if you don't feel it.
