Last year I used to be on anywhere from 120mg - 180mg of Oxycodone a day. They were 15mg pills and my script was 1-2 every 4 hours as needed. My average was 120mg - 135mg a day. I was allowed up to the 180mg, or 12 pills a day, but had to stick around 120mg, or 8 pills a day, or I would run out. The doctor only gave me #240 instead of #360 that would equal 12 a day. He wanted to leave it up to me to be able to take 12 a day, but he didn’t want me taking that much every day.
Most months I would have to taper down the last week and run out a day or 2 early. I usually had Tramadol to take the edge off. And you KNOW that was next to doing nothing from that much Oxycodone!!!
After the first of the year I started going to pain management. I had 2 steroid procedures and then 2 RF procedures in my neck. (RF is Radio Frequency to kill nerves.) Right after the first steroid procedure the Dr. put me on Suboxone for a couple of weeks. From there he switched me to 10/325 Percocets at 4 a day.
After the last RF procedure I was headache free for 3 weeks and had him switch me over to 10/325 Norcos. (Not just headaches, but I also have bad discs in my back, neck, surgeries on both elbows, both shoulders and bicep tendon.) Within 3 days of going to the Norcos the headaches returned, they were worse than before and almost never ending! With that I've been using more than the 4 a day. So here I am once again going to be running out before the 30 days. My average is 5 - 6 Norcos, or 50mg - 60mg a day.
So my questions after all of that BS is, how bad are the withdrawals going to be with Hydrocodone compared to the Oxycodone? I know I don’t get that gotta have a pill just to have one as bad on the Norcos as I did on the Oxycodone and Percosets.
How bad are withdrawals comparing 5 - 6 10/325 Percosets (still Oxycodone) to 5 - 6 of 10/325 Norcos a day?
I have Tramadol to take the edge off and I’d take 2 to maybe 3 a day. Should the Tramadol work better for this with the Norcos than it does for the Oxycodone?
