oxycodone HCL ?

hey my friend just gave me five of his 5 MG oxycodone HCL pills.. i've railed regular oxycodone pills before but what is the deal with the HCL ?? can you snort these ?

But only if they are straight oxy w/no APAP. IF they are just generic percs, then just swallow them.

HCl is attached to the molecules to make them water soluble. Otherwise its a freebase oil, just like cocaine or MDMA.

I know that cocaine in it's standard form is not a freebase, and I don't think that MDMA is either. I believe that it is some sort of salt. Did you perhaps mean something else?

Yes, you can snort them -- if they're big pills or contain APAP or ibuprofen too, this might be more painful/annoying than it's worth.
Most drugs in their pure form are weak bases and often are liquids (oils) at room temperature. Cocaine is a notable exception; its pure ("freebase") form is crack, and is solid. To make these molecules be solid and (preferable) water-soluble, they are reacted with an acid like HCl. The H bonds (covalently) to the drug molecule ("protenating it"), and this positive ion forms a crystalline latice with the anion (usually Cl-). This is called the HCl or whatever salt of the molecule; it doesn't contain hydrochloric acid. When dissolved in water the drugH+ and Cl- ions float around separately. In your body, the extra H will get taken off whenever the pH becomes basic enough.

Crack is an impure conversion of cocaine hydrochloride to a freebase most commonly derived from heating up the coke in water with baking soda and smoking the solid rock that's left after the water has been evaporated (although if you really knew what you were doing, you'd scrape the oil from the top before all the water was evaporated).
Pure cocaine freebase is on another level than crack. Crack is a waste of cocaine. Pure freebase converted using the good ol' volatile Richard Pryor ether method is out of this world.
